SOURCE: 2001 bmw 740il output speed sensor location

hello ryk786, i/m not a hundred percent certain, but I think the output speed sensor is located at the back of the transmission. With the pan removed, if you look at the valve body and see the EDS valves and connectors, look about 2 inches back toward the end of the case and you should see a connector by itself. There should be a retaining torx bolt and spring holding the sensor in place. After installing the new sensor, do not over-tightend the bolt. The torque should be around 5-6 Nm.

SOURCE: 99 Chevy Malibu - auto trans - no dipstick

You have what is called a closed cased transmission. You have to crawl underneathe to get to the tranny and remove the upper bolt close to the side of the case (more towards the bottom of the transmission). When you fill it, you fill it till it starts to drip out of that hole.

Looking for a picture for you.

SOURCE: Change headlight on 2008 Chevy Malibu

Hi there,

Well first you can please follow the below steps -
1. Make sure the ignition key is in the off position and the headlight switch is off. Release the hood latch.
2. Open the hood and locate the top of the headlight assembly where you intend to change the headlight. If a plastic shroud is present, locate the center bolt and remove it with a ratchet and a socket. Lift the shroud out of the way to access the headlight assembly retaining brackets. Some later models may feature a snap-release shroud requiring no tools to remove.
3. Locate the brackets on the top rear of each side of the headlight assembly. Lift them all the way up to align the hole on the bottom of each bracket to the retaining tabs on the assembly.
4. Pull the assembly forward away from the Malibu, but be careful not to scratch the bumper. There are three guide pins that require unseating. The guide pins are what aim the headlights and it may take some wiggling to get the pins from their seats.
5. Support the assembly with one hand and then reach behind the unit with the other. The low beam bulb is on the outside, the high beam bulb is on the inside. You can also replace the parking light if desired. Locate the wire harness connection. Un-clip the wire harness from the back of the bulb socket. Remove the bulb by turning it counterclockwise 1/3 of a turn to align the release tabs of the ring and the assembly. Wiggle the bulb out of the assembly.
6. Place the latex gloves on your hands before opening the package of the replacement bulb. Oil in our skin can damage the glass bulbs of halogen headlights.
7. Carefully insert the new bulb into the ring and then align the tabs of the ring to the tabs of the headlight assembly. Push inward and then twist clockwise 1/3 of a turn to lock the bulb in place. Reattach the wire harness. Rest the headlight assembly inside its cavity and test the operation of the headlight before securing the headlight assembly in place. Be sure to turn the lights and ignition back off.
8. Align the three guide pins to their seats and push the assembly back into them gently until they snap into place. Replace the retaining brackets by pushing them downward to lock into place. Replace shroud, if applicable. Remove the tools and old bulb and close the hood. Post comments for further help or information......

Good Luck!!

2008 Chevy Malibu Classic LS. Is there a fuse for brake lights?

No there isn't. The Body Control Module (BCM) takes care of that. Check the grounds that are near the rear light, but you will need a good auto-electrician with a professional grade scan tool computer to check the BCM functions.

2006 malibu ss traction light on and tranny shifting hard reset computer shifts fine

The error could be in transmission abs airbags or engine among others. As many modules these days is staggering. Suggest take it to dealer. Not many mechanic shops have the ability to check codes or repair suspension , airbag or other manufacturer specific design ed systems. And you will get much more knowledgeable mechanic. Could be as simple as wheel bearing loose, most prelevent cause, but without codes from computer making lights come on, were dead in water. Transmission in limp home mode makes me lead to guess, ya just a guess, to say you are missing a speed sensor. Signal. Now car will still start without crank sensor, tourque converter input speed sensor, trans output speed or any of the four abs wheel speed. Like I said loose wheel bearing causes mag pick up wheel speed sensor to miss counts, ad has predetermined amount of pulsed electrical signals it produces, when one not equal to others then pops code. Good luck write what code is found and where. Thx

I need to find out where the camshaft position sensors are located on a 2008 Chevy Malibu LS 4 cylinder. They need to be replaced and i was told that they are fairly easy to do it yourself.

The cam sensor is on the back of the engine, drivers side. On the side of the head, facing the wheel. Just under the rocker arm cover. Only thing on that side. Four bolts to remove it.

Where is the input speed sensor located

There is no input speed sensor on a malibu. Only the out put. the out put speed sensor is located on top of the trans close to the pass front tire. Follow the axel into the trans on the pass. side and then go up. . You will see a wire connector on it.

Hope that helps

01 malibu not shifting out of 2nd gear

Probably not a fluid issue. If the fluid is close to right, a little more or less won't matter. Is the speedometer working? If the speedo quits its because the trans output speed sensor has failed. This will cause the trans to lock into limp home mode. I've had good luck in these cases by buying the sensor (about $25) and put it in to see if it fixes the problem. $25 is a cheap experiment. The output speed sensor is very near the passenger side CV joint. Btw the trans and the firewall. Hard to reach. Easy to change. If the speedo is working the problem isn't the output sensor. Maybe the input speed sensor.
