It's all going to be metric(of course) but about the only thing you need for removal is extra long extensions to get top bellhousing bolts. You have to reach from back end of tranny over the top.

Changing an engine in any car is a difficult task. Changing an engine in a 4.3 vortec 4wd is probably one of the most difficult trucks to do. In order to get the pan out, you have to remove the axle's in so you can get the front diff out of the way so you dont smash the pan on either the new and the old engine. You have to take off front driveshaft and the starter on the passanger side is nearly impossiable to get too. Good luck!

I have a 1997 Chevy s10 blazer with a 4.3 v6 will a 1998 Chevy s10 blazer 4.3 v6 interchange

they should swap just fine. 1996 and on are interchangeable. 1995 could go either way. 1994 and older are interchangeable.

How do i take a starter off of a 1993 chevy blazer s10 i have the two bolts out and no matter how i try to pull it out it keeps getting stuck

you have to take the flywheel cover off. There are 6 bolts to that, one of which is very difficult unless you have the right tool.

Do I pull trans with engine to do engine change out

well pulling motor and tranny would make it easier in respect to fighting with the tranny bolts but in order to get the tranny and motor out one shot you need a good 2 to 3 feet clearness of the ground and will need to take the radiator and support out to get it out.

tranny bolts aren't that bad except for the top one and if the tranny mount is removed and the tranny hanging down you can get at it with a long extension.

i do it that way because i have a lift and air tools. not sure what you have and what your capable of but it will depend on you situation what is the best way!

if i was doing it on the ground i may take it all out one shot!

good luck man. please ask any more question you have

94 blazer s10 4l60e and the 94 fullsize blazer 4l60e are they the same transmission could i use a s10 tranny for my fullsize blazer ?? i know the bolt for the plate are 3 on each side for mine and the s10...

Installing the full-size Blazer trans into the S-10 would be safer. As long as they came off of the same size engine then yes, they will interchange. But.... the trans off of the S-10 is not built as strong as the trans for the full-sized Blazer, clutch capacity is less, band servo may have smaller apply area, and torque convertor stall speed may different enough to set a "code". Towing capability would be compromised. I have no idea what you meant by the "bolt for the plate".
