I had an issue such as this.. "The heater A/C system may default to the defrost mode when accelerating. This will most likely happen in heavy throttle situations such as trailer towing or accelerating up steep grades" take it to a dealer or service place, there is a part that you purchase inexpensively that needs to be installed. It is not a factory recall, its one of those "it it happens to you, do this" kind of thing. I had to install a vacuum check valve and a vacuum hose. I haven't had a problem since. Ths was found on a site called ALLDATA Online for my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I hope this helps!

My blower motor works but is not blowing out the vents on dashboard, only vents by windshield and side vents but not from dash...how should this be fixed....some vacuum hose ??

You have a loss of vacuum from the engine, first check under the hood and make sure the vacuum storage tank is not damaged and leaking and it has vacuum in it when the engine is running. If all that is ok then move on to the line that goes inside the truck and verify it has vacuum.

A/C doesn't work and only blow air out of the top of the vent. at windshield. Could this be a fuse or relay problem? My mom has lost her owner's manual and I don't know what relay goes to...

the directional for defrost and dash panel may have gone bad, there is no fuse for this. under the dash on the main vent, you will see a little box/with an electrical plug in. it's called an acuator.when you turn the knob to defrost,or dash, the acuator turns the door on the main vent to let the air flow to either the defrost,or dash.your acuator is most likely your problem.there is only one plug in to it and only 2-3 screws that remove it frome the vent panel under the dash.thank you for choosing fixya.com!

It is the vent control. It is located on the passenger side behind the dash. It is vacuum controlled. It can fail and not let you change the vent positions.

Good Luck!

Water on pass side floor every time it rains think air vent plugged looking for a drain for air vent

check the windshield posts from the inside remove the front a pillars then poor water over the windshield edges accross the top of the roof. Sometimes rust forms between the windshield urethane and the metal surface where the windshield seals. If you see water coming down the post you need to check all the roof seam sealer points for pinholes and under the windshield urethane. You can do this next time you change your windshield. Next check for leaves stuck in the drains of the cowl venting and make sure the drains are free to drain.

Air/heat front vents not working

Center vents only open for A/C or cold air. If you turn to full cold then the pod that controls that door has gone bad or the dial has it closed off.

Driver air cool, passenger air warm or hot

Are you sure you checked the temp door ?Is it hot air ,like the heater?First check the ac compressor to see if it is actually turning, then check the large ac lines near the firewall near the windshield to see if they are cold, and sweating. If they are that rules out freon problem. The temp door might not be moving, check all selections on ac control and watch is door and see if one of them doesn`t move.If one door doesn`t move then it is the one you need to fix,if I can help, let me know.roniecon@gmail.com

The vent flap foam lining has come loose and needs to be removed or reglued . A spray on contact adhesive works best , don't glue the flap to the vent casing.
