Question about 2001 Honda Civic

I have a 2001 Honda Civic and the sunroof stopped working. I was able to close it by using the crank on the headboard. Is this something a DIY can fix?

I can hear the motor running but nothing happens. Sounds like it is out of its track.

I have a 2001 olds alero and the sunroof amongst other things arent working fuses are all good its cold out how do i manually close the sunroof?

Look for a small circular cover around the sunroof at the rear or front. Some have a plug you remove and you get a small crank handle with the tool kit.

Take a look at these links and videos.

manually close the sunroof Google Search

Hi so my 1997 honda civic has water leaking into my car through the sunroof

There is a gasket seal that you can purchase to replace the seal. There really aren't any flaws I have heard of with the slide back power sunroof. (I am guessing this is the sun roof you have). There could be something caught in the seal. Check and see if you have a stick, acorn, or ect stuck in the seal first. The only other thing I can think of would be the final stage of closure on that particular sunroof not working. They close and then seat. Check the track ways to ensure they are not bent or jammed with something. Hope that helps.

Honda CRV-2001 MODEL SUN ROOF WILL NOT OPEN OR CLOSE. Sun roof motor OK, but loud clicking noise evident when power button is operated. Sun Roof stuck in closed position.

caution if it opens you may not be able to close it again, this sounds like the track broke or something in the motor. lets hope its the motor as if its the track then the whole track needs to be replaced, there is no repairing a broken sunroof track.

2001 Honda civic shakes and dies when coming to a stop

Sounds like the engine isn't getting enough gas or air when it slows down at a stop. This could be that the idle has degraded and needs to be increased. It could be as simple as a clogged fuel line or filter or the air filter. Check the filters first since that is an easy DIY task. If that isn't it you will likely need a garage to look at the idle.

Can't get the sunroof closed. checked the fuses all looked good. i think i pushed the slide part back too far and now it's stuck under the hood of the car. help :(

Most vehicles have a manual crank slot so you can manually close the sunroof. Best thing you can do is unwedge the cover and see if it electrically closes. If you get that sliding cover unstuck and the sun roof still wont close then use the manual crank. You can find that crank usually covered by an upolstery patch just to the side or behind the sunroof itself on the ceiling. Good Luck

1997 Honda Civic EX: Exhaust fumes coming inside

hi, this might help you:

at first make sure your air system is set to take the inside air of the car. this is the button with the car on it with above this little car a circular arrow like as if air circulates only within the car, or like the air from the outside wont circulate inside the car.

if not:

if possible get a expert to do a check up of the body/chassis, it might be in a condition where rust has made wholes in eg a part under your seat.

it might also be that something is wrong with the ventilation part of your honda, like 'tubes' are leaking within the engine bay or??? something like that.

ive had a honda, not this problem, but i think it'll be something with the isolation and or the plates between the chassis 'bars'....

hope you'll find a solution soon.
