Question about 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe
The oil pressure drops to 0 at idle and oil light comes on but goes up with rpms. has a little knock at start up and at idle. little note that head gasket was just replaced a moth ago. could it be the main bearings? it is a 1996 chevy tahoe with 265000 miles
OOO not good sounds like some of the head gasket got stuck somewhere, or the gauge or sender is bad or got knocked around when repairing the head gasket. I would check that first. If that checks out will need to drop the pan to see if something got stuck in the pickup tube, might as well change the pump while you are there. Or worst case some thing wrong with gasket job impeading oil flow back to bottom of the engine. Was the oil and filter changed ?if so pull out filter and see if an chunks are stuck in it now. And change oil and filter again. Sorry that was out of order I had a long day
