Glow plug relay should be on the front are rear of intake.you have a mechanical low pressure pump on the passenger side low near the front. or a electric low pressure pump on the starter side. your truck should have the low pressure electric pump. to check fuel pressure you disconnect the out let line to do a out put test.on the electric low pressure pump.put out let line in a container.crank engine for 20 to 30 sec.you should have a good flow of fuel no dribbles.if dribble replace low pressure electric pump.the mechanical low pressure pump out put test you disconnect fuel line from the fuel filter inlet line.disconnect wire at fuel injection pump electric shut off solenoid .place the fuel line in a container. crank engine for 20 sec. fuel flow looks good.pump is good .if dribbles.replace mechanical low pressure pump.to check glow plug relay you need a .diesel repair ford manual to show you where to put a test light to check the relay.WEAR SAFETY GLASSES WHEN WORKING ON DIESEL ENGINES.DONT DISCONNECT THE INJECTION PUMP LINES WHILE ENGINES IS RUNNING.THE FUEL PRESSURE IS SO HIGH SPRAY IN YOUR EYE CAN CAUSE BLINDNESS.GET IN SKIN OR SORE CAUSE BLOOD POISON. CAN ALSO CAUSE A FIRE BE VERY CAREFUL.

The high pressure pump is actually in the valey of the engine. You will need a 5000PSI Gauge and a special oring fitting to go into the top of the pump to check the pressure. It is much easier to get a scan tool and look at the ICP, why do you want to see this pressure? Also the glow plug relay is on the passanger side valve cover. It has two larger posts, one for voltage in from the batteries and one large post to the plugs, then two smaller wires.

2007 Cadillac srx oil pressure alarm, light going off, why?

If oil level is correct, you could install a mechanical oil pressure gauge to insure you actually have good oil presure. If all is well, change oil pressure sender unit.

Have 94 grand dam change fuel pump change presure regulater and relay pump stays runnig and car wont start

If by cranking you mean the engine starts then you are having fuel issues. If the car starts with starting fluid then you either don't have fuel pressure or the injectors are not opening. After starting with starting fluid does it continue to run until you shut it off or does it shut off on its own?

Either way you will need to install a fuel pressure gauge to make sure you have enough fuel pressure. If you do have fuel pressure then you will need to make sure the injectors are firing. There is a tool available called a noid light or injector pulse light. You will need to unplug one of the injectors and plug this tester into the connector. If the light flashes while cranking then the injector is being companded to fire. If the light does not flash then you either have a bad engine computer or a control module. More than likely it is the control module. The control module uses the input from the crankshaft position sensor to fire the coil and the injectors the module may be loosing the signal for the injector.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

I have a 05 F-350 6.0L turbo diesel No start. Replaced FICM. Checked high presure oil pump. Changed all sensors. Am lost. Next step is to put a oil presure Gage on high presure oil pump. System looked...

Check for fuel pressure at the primary fuel filter. there if you move the plug for the fan clutch you can see an auxillary plug on the filter housing facing forward and to the driver side. You should have 40+psi with key on. another way to check the pump is to listen for it to cycle on for 10 seconds or so after key on. Also check for lubricating oil pressure on the cluster gauge and then high pressure oil with a manual gauge. its needs to see around 600psi oil pressure to signal the injectors to fire. best way to check all of these is with a scanner that has data reading, which will also tell you if you have a bad ficm, ecm or sensor connection.

Oil presure keeps is very low at times i replaced the oil sending unit what else could it be and how do i fix it

I would first check the oil pressure with a "wet gauge" to verify what the actual pressure is. There could be a problem with the gauge itself. If not, you may have a clogged pick up screen, or stuck check valve in the oil pump.

Oil scencer showing low presure

if your oil pressure gauge is reading low, the sensor, instrument cluster gauge or the pump is bad. remove sensor and use an oil pressure test gauge. reading should be measured and verified against manufactures specs. if the pump is bad, damage to the engine will result.

How to check the pressure on a heui pump on a f350 and where is i

I need a little more information on what is going on with your truck. If you want to know how to check the high pressure oil system the easiest way is with a scan tool but if you don't have access to one of them then you can also use a mannual gauge it needs to go up to 5000 PSI and you need to have the proper hoses and fittings before you try this procedure that oil pressure gets high enough to cut your finger really bad that they might have to remove it so be very carefull. If you are going to do this procedure I have to know if this is a 6.0L of a 7.3L they were both availible in that model year.

2003 F-250 powerstroke

Could be one of many things:

-Clogged fuel filter
-Leaking fuel line
-Bad fuel pump
-High or low oil level
-Overdue oil change (Will explain both these possible causes later)
-Bad high pressure oil pump, ICP sensor (injection control pressure sensor), ICR (injection control pressure regulator), or bad HEUI injectors, or oil lines
-Leak in the high pressure oil system (unlikely because you would have noticed this... This does not go undetected as the underside of your vehicle would be literally covered in oil and dripping in a very short period of time after the leak develops)
(Powerstroke engines use a HEUI fuel injection system, "Hydraulically actuated/electronically controlled unit injection", which relies on a high pressure hydraulic pump that uses engine crankcase oil and pumps it at high pressure (500 psi or so). This oil is sent to your fuel injectors to provide means for actuating them and pressurizing the fuel into the cylinders. High or low engine oil level, or old, diluted, additive depleted oil will cause this system to aerate the oil and result in poor fuel injection capabilities)

There might be other causes but this is the Powerstroke`s weak point... The HEUI system was first designed by Caterpillar, which makes a lot of excellent/bulletproof HEUI based engines, both in passenger vehicle and heavy trucks and equipment. The Powerstroke is an engine designed and made by International Truck and Engine, which cannot seem to make a HEUI engine, in any market, whether passenger, heavy truck, or equipment that does not suffer from fuel injection issues.
