Question about 1998 Pontiac Bonneville

Need the name of a part so i can replae it

I replaced the MAP sensor on my 1998 bonneville 3.8l v6 today. I broke the clip that holds the sensor in place. what is the name of the part that the MAP sensor slides into?

    the map sensor fits into a hole on the end of the intake. That piece has 2 clips on the side of it thast hold the MAP sensor in place. I broke the clip. The part with the clips screws out and has a spring on the end of it.

    thank you. I kinda fugured that, but didn't want to take any chance. The MAP sensor seems to fit quite snuggly, so I have already put a zip-tie around it and it seems to be fine. thanks again

Its a bracket...However, the map sensors life does not depend on the clip and a simple tie wrap or plastic strap will adequately hold it in place...may look a bit "backyard" but you'd be surprised how many similar items are attached in that way without any problems. If you need it to look "factory" get whatever you need from any local junkyard...likely they will charge $5 or less for it!

Replace MAP sensor for 2004 gmc canyon

manifold absolute pressure /v8 remove intake cover.disconnect map.detach retaining clips /easy /its the same on v6 but u have intake aiair duct and resonator.its connected to the side i would give u a pic but its cold here

If you have a mass air flow sensor in the big boot from air cleaner housing to throttle body, likely there is no map sensor.

Where is the map sensor on a 1998 pontiac bonneville and how do i replace it ?

its a rectangular sensor with a vacume line to it. 3 wire plug. takes 2 bolts very small ones. 5 min tops. its somwhere on top of the engine bolted to the manifold or bracket.

It is on oil filter adapter. Find oil filter and you will find pressure switch Oil temp/ level sensor should be on oil pan

Is the engine from the bonneville a 3.8 too. If its is it will interchange, Just make sure you use everything off the 98, like all the sensors ect. The basic engines are the same its the add ons that will be different.
