1998 buick park avenue fuel gauge doesn't register

The starter had to be rebuilt this past summer and ever since then the fuel gauge will no move off empty. The car was towed to get fixed. Can the gauge be "reset" or is there a fix that can be done.

How was the car towed ? From the back or front ? If picked up FROM THE REAR, there is a possibility a fuel gauge sender wire was disturbed, near the rear bumper. There is not a RESET button. The timing of the malfuntions lead me to look at this. The starter and fuel gauge are not "linked" Could also be a 'coincidence " Hope this helps

first check there is spark at the spark plugs, if ok check fuel pressure and fuel flow, if ok check injector pulse by holding while the starter is engaged. One of the above will be at fault.

My 1998 Buick park avenue burns gas faster than it usually does. What should I do.

If you use ethanol blended gasoline this is normal. ethanol blended fuel doesn't burn as well as regular unleaded

if you use unleaded non-blended fuel
A good thorough tune up should remedy this.

change spark plugs and wires
air filter
fuel filter
engine and transmission oil and filters should do the trick

Can't find the fuel gauge fuse what code is beside the fuse

there is not a seperate fuse for the Fuel gauge, if the fuse was bad nothing in the dash would work, you have most likely a fuel gauge sending unit problem.
