Car Starting After Multiple Cranks

This car was perfect until 3 weeks ago. I have replaced hoses, electrical parts and had the transmission rebuilt. Now, it will not start on the first crank of the key. Usually the second or third and right away, but the first cranks sound very hard and kills if they do catch. Had the ground checked when I took back to the transmission shop for a 10 day check up. Could use some advice on what the problem might be before making a decision on who to take it to.

The starter is related to the transaxle.,it drives the ring gear to start it,also have them check the wiring that they moved especially the starter wiring.

Place car on drive, while holding brake down jumps. When you drive it's stuck on 3rd gear.

Your transmission has failed. Not uncommon for a car that is 12 years old, especially if the car has ever overheated (since the transmission fluid is cooled through the radiator). Take the vehicle to a transmission repair shop, and they will likely recommend replacing the transmission with a rebuilt one.

95 mustang v6 auto no forward gears but works in reverse had ****** rebuilt and same thing

Maybe your differential is shot and will only allow reverse spin or the transmission was not really rebuilt professionally. Was the transmission checked outside of your car after rebuild? Does your vehicle have a Powertrain Control Module (PCM)? Maybe the module went bad or faulty.

I have an on going intermittent starting problem . sometimes car starts great and runs great . but sometimes engine just cranks and does not start. it may start in an hour or a day later , but sometimes it...

I had a problem like yours on my 96 towncar and after literally months of replacing the wrong parts.
I bought a crank shaft sensor and crawled under the car to try and install it. Looking at how oily it appeared I unplugged the wires from it and cleaned both the wire plug and the sensor with some electrical contact cleaner available at most auto parts stores , and that was over a year ago and the problem has not returned since then. The sensor is located on the passenger side just behind the harmonic balancer under the front end of the motor. If yours is oily it would be worth a try.
Hope this helps.

Multiple electrical flukes, transmission goes into

It is the circuit board behind the gauges.
The solder cracks around the pin causing an inconsistent connection.
Cheapest fix is to go to salvage yard and get a complete new circuit board.
I found three soldered connections bad on mine and fixed it myself but for the average Joe it would be just as easy to get another circuit board.

The transmission model in your car is a 5R55N which is manufactured by the Ford motor company. There are currently 3 different modles of the 5R55,including also the W and S models. The Pressure Control Solenoid is a part of,the solenoid block. The solenoid block is mounted just inside the transmission pan,and can be replaced with a new one to see if it fixes the problem. If the trans ultimately needs to be rebuilt,a new solenoid block would be installed on one of my rebuilds anyways. If the solenoid block doesn't fix the problem, the trans would either have to be removed and rebuilt, replaced with a remanufactured unit,or replaced with a salvage yard, good used unit.Good luck.
