SOURCE: BMW E90 323I, ABS resetting.

hey hassa, if you swapped an ABS control unit from another vehicle, it needs to be coded to your vehicle. If your vehicle does not recognize the replacement vin, it will set a fault. also, make sure to have the ABS sensors calibrated after the control unit is coded. most dealers charge about 1hr labor to perform coding and sensor calibration.

This is for 2001 onwards :

- Iginition OFF (POS 0) with key in.

- Keep the button depressed (about 5 secs.) until you see "Oil Service" or "Inspection" with "Reset" or "Re" in the display

05 BMW X3 can i install a use dme and and program it using ISIS diagnostic and programing soft ware

No, the dme is coded by vin, the car would not start if you tried to program, you could perhaps snag the ews and lcm from the same car you got the dme from. But the. You might have a issue with the new lcm trying to update mileage to the old Komi. A lot less headaches to just order one coded from BMW why do you think it needs a dme?

I have a 1996 BMW 328IS iwth 112k miles and the computer goes on and off without reason, that I can determine. When its on it works fine although there is a large looks like an ink block on the screen...

i have replaced my dme 3 times. water gets into that box and corrodes the dme inside.

remove your dme and clean the contacts on the circuit board with some alcohol and a tooth brush.

in addition, a smart move would be to cleans as many electrical conatcts as you can with a electrical contact cleaner and then apply some di-electric grease to each contact.

I've fix DME operations this way as well as intermittent ASC erors and even stiff steering for low speed operations.
