Question about 1996 Ford Explorer

Dash lights out on my 96 Ford Explorer

Gauge lights around outside of dash are on. Those surrounding the speedometer are out and at night it is tough to see the speed.

Remove dash and replace bulbs. if you are handy and remenber where the screws go you be ok

Lights or fuse for my speed odemeter guage and heater/air conditioning system


These lights for the dash are controlled by a rheostat instrument control dimmer switch next to the main light switch for the headlights, it is either turned off (have seen this dozens of times) or it is defective. Below is a picture of the switch assembly I speak of. The thumb wheel next to the knob is the dimmer control.

All of the lights have gone out on my dash. I can't see the speed, or gas guage, etc. when driving at night. I have a 202 Ford Taurus.


My dash lights are not working, this is the lights around the speedometer and the gas register. Can ypu tell me what I need to do.

2004 explorer dash gauges acting crazy


check and make sure all the fuses are in good but it sounds like a bad ground wire
