Question about 2000 Mazda 626
Just purchased a 2000 Mazda 626, once on interstate and went past 60 mph, the car begin to hesitate and the rpm would race up & down, the OD light came on for a while but went off. Please I need help this car is for my son and I want him to be safe and not have any problems. Thanks
Most likely, if it's anything like my old Mazda MX-3, the Mazda engines are VERY sensitive to airflow on the intake side. There is possibly a crack in the airbox or intake plenum (sometimes hard to spot if they are in a "bellows" portion), or not latched in place properly or improper airfilter. Give those a look, looking is free, fixing can be pricey, Mazda wants a lot for a little bit of formed plastic, just to warn you.
