Question about 2001 Ford Focus
Just bought a 2001 Ford Focus and drives pretty well most of the time but it will suddenly lose power for a few seconds (usually happens once every 2 days). What I've noticed is that all of the gauges shut down, but I'm still able to accelerate. It's almost like the battery is losing a connection for a second or two and restablishes itself. The battery had a lot of corrosion on it and I cleaned this all up at the positive/negative connections. Maybe a bad connection somewhere else? Please help! :( car looses power and stalls all the time when warm also smells like overheating but temp gauge shows normal

Go check your fuel tank maybe had some water in it, some gas stations were selling fuel contaminated with water, mud or else. the best way to solve the problem is to unistall the fuel tank and give a good deep clean, also replace the fuel filters (primary and secondary) of the fuel pump.

I reccommend you get a new battery, cleaning up the corrosion does nothing, the corrosion is a sign of acid leaking from the battery
