Winshield Wipers don't work

My wipers do not work on my 1994 Ford Ranger. I tried replacing the motor and that does not seem to be the problem, someone told me it might be in the relay or the switch and said that might be in the steering column. Can I bypass the relay and just run a wire from the wiper motor to a switch on my dash board, maybe a dimmer switch? and have my wipers work from that? Or is that not possible?

It is probably the relay. They are not very expensive. I would not try to rig this if you can avoid it. It leads to a risk of fire when people try to wire around the existing system.

Call your parts store and get a price quote on the relay. You will need to tell them if you have delay wipers or not.

Replace relays 30 & 32 in the engine compartment fuse box near the battery. they both control windshield wiper function. there are a group of six relays near the back of that panel..... looking at the group from the front it's the two relays on the left starting from the top one and going to the next one down.

Windshield wipers completely stopped working

Well first I would check the fuse box for burned out fuses. Then I would get a simple dc power tester and see if the windshield wiper motor is getting power. If you don't have a bad fuse and the motor is still getting power I would say the motor has burned out.

Can't find wiper relay on 94 ranger

Wipers do not require a relay. If your wipers are not functioning and a fuse is blown, the washer will not work either. If the washer works, check the wiper switch or the wiper motor, but wiper motors are normally very reliable.

My winshield wipers dont work on the steering wheel lever,but on the same the cruise button works , ive checked all the fuses the wiper moter, and seems like i dont know what to check next.

Check to see if you can hear the motor activating when you turn the switch on may be a bad motor or you have no voltage getting through to the motor.

The winshield wiper on my 2007 Jetta its no

You likely don't need a new motor. You just have to get your wipers repacked with grease.

Changed the heater core in 2002 ford ranger, now the winshield wipers wont work, bought new switch and still wont work? what is it????also the interior lights wont work. all fuses are ok.

Why did you buy a switch? Did the original one meter out bad? Never replace any part till you understand how it works and how to test it. Work the wipers and the lighting issues as two separate problems. The wiper motor or relay etc may have failed around the same time as the heater core. Two separate things Unplug the wiper motor and turn the key on. Meter out the connector in different switch modes. Need a schematic of the circuit. Lights-- Problem is after the fuses and they are the start of most circuits. so you know you have an open circuit like a connector under the dash you disturbed unknowingly during the heat core deal or a loose ground wire.

Had the same problem on my '92 and 97. on the wiper motor there is a front cover held by a center screw... remove the cover there should be a small computer circuit board... disconect and replace... the cards are known to fail and a new replacement part, not a used one. they all fail on the older models.. new one has corrected the issue with the card... hope this works;;
