Question about 2000 Chevrolet Tracker

Smoke out of AC

I recently started getting thin grey smoke out of my AC which becomes worse if i put it to draw in air from outside. I noticed im low on engine coolant and am going to replace it to see if it will fix the problem. But in case that doesnt work does anyone else have another suggestion as to what it could be, such as a lose/broken belt or something similar to that nature.

Your heater core is leaking. That thin grey smoke is steam.

I have a Brute Force 750, starts OK but runs rough after a few minutes, will start smoking a smelly black/gray smoke, and most recently some blue smoke.

When the head gasket fails on a liquid (water) cooled engine the typical smoke colour is white (steam) and that becomes rather underlined by the steady drop of the coolant level and often clear evidence combustion gas is leaking into the cooling system.

Smelly black/grey smoke tends to be produced by an over-fuelling condition such as a stuck choke or strangler or other cold starting aid or perhaps carburettor flooding.

Blue or blue/grey smoke is invariably engine oil burning but I suggest you ignore that until the black smoke problem is rectified and after a short time the blue smoke might also disappear. If it doesn't it could be related to the overheating but the black smoke probably wasn't caused by that...

Excessive exhaust smoke

You may have a broken ring or scored cylinder wall and piston. Have a cylinder leak down test performed to confirm this. Other causes can be a plugged crankcase ventilation system causing pressure to build in the engine, if that is the case the air cleaner box should have oil in it. The grey color of the smoke means you are burning a lot of oil.

1993 Mazda Miata runs perfect in everyway except that it just started blowing white/grey smoke from tailpipe, only happens when it is first started and cold engine

could be 2 reasons.
1. start of a head gasket leak to the combustion chamber. Will become more white and for longer period as it gets worse.
2. oil rings are worn and starting to pass oil to combustion chamber. They seal up once engine is worn.

have the fault codes read to determine if any sensors are out of parameters from the engine rebuild. If you did not get a rebore and you used existing pistons the smoke may be from excessive ring clearance and worn ring grooves in the pistons . I am not a believer in wearing in as all wear only gets worse (not better) but in this case may be some normal use will allow the rings to reseal in the worn ring grooves over time

Smoke comes out ac unit in my car

yes your not seeing things im ase certified in auto ac,ford, chevy honda, also. what is happening is fine dust from the ac evaporator ,inside the air tubes and sometimes fog and moisture all can come out you only need to worry if the system starts blowing out ice crystals or it gets worse then it will need to be looked at.

Your'e probably poking at the fuel rail schrader valve, kind of looks like the bicycle tire valve? The smoke from the vents could be the ac running while it was hot and humid outside. All normal. Now, the low idle may be due to a clogged air filter(did your friend drive around dirt roads). Replace that first and see how it runs, if still the same replace the fuel filter next, may be partially clogged, but I'm leaning more towards a plugged air filter.
