SOURCE: How can I change the headlights in a 1998 Honda Accord?

Its not that hard but you have to remove bumper to get to the two bottom bolts that holds the headlights. First remove grille and there are 2 10mm bolts that holt the tip of fenders they are the first bolts under the fender weld closes to the bumper cover. Then there are two bumper mounts/brackets that hold bumper to frame/radiator support. they are held by (4) 12mm bolts may need a swivel socket to get to them( easily accessed if you remove front signal lights in the bumper held by philips screws in the corners). After removing bracket bumper should come right off. Headlights are in plain clear view. (4) 10mm bolts and you are done. Re-install in the reverse. Good Luck . If I fixed ya leave me a FIX-YA comment. Contact me if you need more info

SOURCE: 88 honda accord lxi 2.0 fuel injected (high idle)

Check for vacuum leaks, with engine at idle, go around engine and wiggle EVERY vacuum hose(especially near connections) you will probably find one that causes the issue to occur.

I own a 1988 honda accord lxi, while driving along the hwy.my car pops out of fifth gear,i put it back in gear but there was no fifth gear. i got home and discovered i had lost reverse as well. can you help...

Go to Car-Part.com. You can look there for a used 5-speed for your '88 accord. The site is a nationwide locator of participating salvage yards, very extensive. I'm sure you could find one reasonable.

The cost of tearing down your gear box and repairing it may be prohibitive. That work usually requires a few special tools and a lot of checking tolerances.

Pop up headlight 88 honda prelude wiggles

first off about 1/2 the parts are not discontinued, (mr. honda's dream was canceled, after his death.)
find a mech that can fix parts, many can't.
or shop that can do old classic cars. they CAN.
or buy a new assembly. (NOS> new old stock)
or read the FSM on this topic.???? read how to adjust it.........

there are no permanent fixes, all are temporary, GRIN !

here are the parts.
you can look.

88 Honda Accord left front turn signal assembly

*The Turn signal on the Side of the car next to the headlight*
1. Open the retractable headlights.
2. Remove the plastic shroud around the headlight: two screws in front and one on each side.
3. Look to the outside of the headlight and you will see a single screw in a small plastic cover on the front inside edge of the signal light assembly. The headlight prevents you from getting at the screw straight-on. I broke it loose with an offset phillips screwdriver, and then backed it out with a regular phillips.
4. Remove the plastic cover, and you will see two screws. Remove them.
5. Now you can pull the turn signal assembly forward and out.
6. To remove the bulb holders from the assembly, twist counterclockwise and pull out.
7. Pull straight outward to remove the bulbs. To assemble, follow the steps in reverse. Note that there are two plastic rods on the back end of the turn signal assembly that you will insert into two holes in the channel of the fender

*The turn signal in the bumper*
1. You will need a phillips head And Flat head screw driver, right below the turn signal there is a panel that you can pop out, (or its allready gone, Looks like a Fog light can go in there.)
2. once u find that, (Pretty easy to find) Look directly up in there., there is styrofoam up there and u will also notice a little hole,
3. Stick the Phillips head screw driver in that hole and turn it counter clockwize, The screw will not fall out,
4.once it feels like the screw is loose put the flat head in between the turn signal lense and bumper, the side where you unscrewed it and SLOWLY pry it out,
4. once out, just twist the plug and replace light bulb
to replace just reverse instructions
