1988 ford Taurus turn signals not working. Help? The hazard signals work. Replaced switch on column and flasher. Still no turn signals? WTF?

There are two flashers, one for the four ways and one for the turn signals. If I remember right the turn signal one is on the backside of the interior fuse box.

Flashers work but turn signals will not 1989 bonneville

There are usually two flashers that are used on most cars. One for the turn signals and one for the hazard lights. They are usually located under the dash. If you don't know what they look like, then go to the parts store and ask to see a new one. Once you locate both of them, see if they have the same part number stamped on them. If they do, then switch them and see if the signals work.
REMEMBER : The key must be turned on for the turn signals to work in most cases. The hazard flashers will work with the key off.
If the signals work, then replace the turn signal flasher. I hope this information is helpful and thank you for using Fixya.com.

Blinkers won't work...

Well, I would suggest turning your hazard lights on. Should they turn on, then you might be able to locate the problem in the signal arm. If the switch in the arm is broken... there is your problem. If the hazards do NOT turn on, check your wiring for exposed shorts or even soft areas. Good Luck, repost if the problem persists and the hazards are out too, please, for further help.

96 Ford Taurus no turn signals or hazards

Take the turn signal lever and jiggle it, a lot. If they start working, the switch is bad. You can also turn on the hazards and take hold of the button and push it left , right , forward and back and see if they start working. If so, replace the turn signal/ hazard switch.

FIRST Check for Blown Fuse Then Locate Flasher Units @ Fuse Block to Determine Wiitch one is Hazard Turn On Key Then Turn Syg. Feel Flashers The One you feel Clicking is For Turn The Other IS Flasher Replace this Flasher unit.

  1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the turn signal/hazard flasher lamp to duplicate the condition.
  2. Inspect to determine if one of the electrical concerns apply: VISUAL INSPECTION CHART Electrical
    • Circuitry open/shorted.
    • Fuse junction panel Fuse:

  • Damaged multi-function switch.
  • Miniature bulb burned out.
  • Damaged lamp.
  1. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
  2. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. See: ProceduresSymptom Chart(s)

Turn signals won't work and ignition busser won't stop

see if the 4 way (hazard) lights work. if they do then you may have bad turn signal switch or something in that switch, power or ground, is not getting where it needs to go. most manufacturers call that part a multifunction switch because it controls turn signals, headlights, usually some other stuff too. you should make sure you don't have a blown fuse in your turn signal circuit too. not sure i know what the ignition buss is. hope this helps
