Question about 1992 Ford F150 SuperCab

Ford F-150 starting problem

Ford F-150 5.0L engine
Truck will not start, it acts like it's starved for fuel. We have replaced the fuel filter and that hasn't helped...any other ideas...If you keep your foot in the gas it will run, however, it's running way too rich.

Replace the fuel regulator, its about a $50.00 part and takes about 15 minutes to change, but first relieve the fuel pressure and you can do it in a couple of ways, hitting the fuel pump shut off swith(inertia switch)until the red button pops up,but remember to reset it when done, located either behind the passengers side kick panel or under the carpet in the middle under the dash then start it to run it out of gas which there will still be a little bit in the lines,...or drain it at the valve to check for pressure it looks like a valve stem for a tire.

Have you checked to make sure the fuel filter isn't clogged (in fact, check all the filters). Sometimes it's really that simple . . .

A 460 engine that acts like its not getting enough fuel. Will start but runs as if only on half the cylinders missing badly or such.

Check your running fuel pump pressure. If (as I suspect) it's too low, first try changing your fuel filter. After changing the filter, recheck the running fuel pump pressure. If still low, check you fuel pump pressure regulator. If OK, you may need a new fuel pump.

Also probably would be a good idea to replace you air filter.

Good luck!

Truck acts like it is running out of gas? Replaced fuel filter. Ran fine for awhile but now still acts like it is starving for fuel.

my '93 f-250 (4.9L) stopped running while driving, now it acts like it isn't getting any fuel. Tried switching tanks, but still does the same. What would be the problem.

Truck starts and runs great, but if the temp gets past a certain point it starts acting like its starving for fuel then dies. after 30 minutes or so of cooling down it cranks and runs like there was never...

If the temperature is exceeding 210 degrees you are at risk for overheating your truck and it shutting down is a good thing. If it is exceeding this temperature range, buy a new thermostat (very inexpensive and easy to change) located where the main radiator hose enters the engine block. This will also help keep your temps under control and if you have never changed one before on this truck, it's time to do so anyway. If the problem is happening before 210 degrees......I'm not really sure what the problem could be except that the heat coming off the engine is vaporizing the fuel before it hits the cylindars thus causeing to act like it is starving for fuel.

You need to check spark plugs/wires/distributor cap.
Also good idea to check/replace fuel filter/air filter. It might be also bad fuel pump.
Good Luck
