Blower runs when shut off

2001 chrylser t & c blower runs when shut off

  • Luzcecilia51 Apr 16, 2009

I had the same problem and I found out that it was the module behind the glove compartment where the blower connects. I bought the module directly from the dealer at 100dlls. It was easy to install, it was a matter of two screws. Good luck fixing yours.

You can order this part mentioned in the previous solution from Auto Zone and they call it the blower motor resistor. It doesnt look like the original but it works. It costed me about $25.

Blower on high and won't shut off when vehicle is shut off

It's common for the blower motor speed resistor and harness to melt causing your blower to only work on high and check the blower motor relay. The relay may have melted also causing the 12 Volt power to still be supplied even though the vehicle has been shut off. Good luck and you can but the parts needed at most Auto Parts store like Auto Zone, but i believe the GM parts department has the resistor and wire harness kit to ensure all the parts that may have been damaged due to the heat built up by the current used to run the blower motor on hi. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know you have your truck running 100%

ANYONE KNOW WHAT WOULD CAUSE THE FUEL GAUGE IN MY 2001 CHRYLSER SEBRING TO BOUNCE FROM FULL TO EMPTY AND DING THE LOW FUEL LIGHT ON AND OFF? IT JUST KEEPS DOING IT WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING.

  1. Abraded insulation on the fuel gauge sender wire (intermittent short to ground).
  2. Bad fuel level sensor.
  3. Corroded or broken connector in the fuel gauge sender circuit.

2001 Chevy Blazer blower motor not working

It keeps burning out blower resistors because of the blower motor drawing to much amperage so you will need to replace the resistor and blower motor

Blower motor does not operate right

This could also be a loose/poor connection from the control unit. I have had a similar issue. I know it is not thermal overload because sometimes the blower just doesn't come on when you start the car. A slap to the top of the dash board over the temperatures controls has got it going again.

2001 Chrysler T&C replacing the front heater blower fan

I just replaced in 2001 dodge grand caravan so I'm assuming they're the same. I own a 2001 Chrylser T&C too. Open the glove box, usually you push in sides of box so it will drop down. You can see how to pop it loose and remove it altogether. The blower motor can be kicked w/ your right foot when you are seated in the passenger side. It has a plastic cover over it. Before you remove anything you can see the plug to blower once the glove box door is removed and you need to unplug the old one and plug in your used one to make sure it works. Mine was used too. I held it in my hand and turned the fan on but dont hold to the rotating wheel. There is a small motor on the tip bottom of the blower cover (smaller than a small jewelry box). It rotates a door inside, between the cover and blower. Remove about 2 screw to remove it first. Then You can remove 4 or 5 screws to remove cover. (my cover wouldnt come off and I thought I missed a screw in the back I couldnt find. I kept pulling and eventually the plastic cracked and released but appeared to be just stuck.) Be careful removing the cover b/c you might break that rotating door! Once removed you can see bottom of blower. Only about 4 screws hold it on. You can see where the plug runs thru rubber gasket and into the resistor that you plugged the replacement into earlier. Its time consuming to maneauver the blower into its spot' especially around that hanging rotating door. My resistor was bad and had melted the plug to it. I ordered it from auto zone for $25. Only 2 screws hold it in. The replacement looks nothing like the old one I removed. But it worked! Hint---to the left of the blower is a hidden door facing down that slids open and a filter slides down out of. It filters the a/c air and is to be replaced about 15k miles. Keeps it from being musky air. Do all this while your standing on your head in the floor board.
I'm a mom (loan officer) and I figured it out, so I know you can.
