Question about 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis

95 Grand Marquis loses power between 45mph - 60mph

Hello,

I have a 95 Mercury Grand Marquis. It has 87,000 miles.

The car runs fine and seems normal through 45 mph.

From 45mph - 60mph, the car runs like it doesn't have
power and when it tries to get the power it "kicks"
and "jumps".

When this started to happen, the check engine light
came on and stays on permanently.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Eddie

Mine was doing the same thing. I took it to one place and they charged me $107.00 for a fuel injection cleaning. That didn't do a thing. I then took it to a backyard mechanic and it turned out to be a bad spark plug. It has been running great ever since. Good luck.

I have a 1999 mercury grand marquise and the idling is going from normal to sluggish and eventually dies out, goes dead when I come to a stop or make a turn.
