Question about 2002 Volkswagen Golf

2002 vw 5 speed Golf intermittently running hot for 2 months

AAA resently replaced my battery. I read online that when you get a new battery, the computer needs to be reset. Could this be related? Or is this a radiator/thermostat problem? It runs hot especially when sitting in traffic. HELP!

The computer is reset when the battery is disconnected, it takes a few days to relearn your driving habits for idle strategy only, it would have not affect on the cooling system of any kind. check and verify the engine cooling fan is running, if u have AC turn it on, this will cool the engine down and should engage the fan. Make sure that no connectors near the battery were left unplugged or accidentally unplugged.

This problem is usually caused by a intake Vacuum leak ,Check the hard tube coming out of the brake booster for cracks. MAFs are known to fail on them.

I have a VW mk4 2002 1.6 Estate . The EPC light intermittently comes on and the car loses power. What can I do about this?

You will need to have a suitable diagnostic tester plugged in to read the fault that has been logged. Air mass (or air flow) meters are a fairly common thing that can go wrong.

1991 vw golf gti- RPM stop working!

judging by the amount of km it has done i would say the rpm drive is faulty, this measures the amount of rotation in the camshaft and shows the "revolutions per minute". when this goes faulty it stops the read out on the dial, so you want to be looking for a device that measures the speed that the engine is turning, if you have, replace it and it should solve the problem
