My 1999 GMC Jimmy is leaking anti freeze on the left front side even when the vehicle isnt running is this more likely to be an intake leak or a head gasket leak?

I actually see the fluid comming from the front left corner where the intake meets next to the valve cover. There is no discoloration in my oil and no smoke from the vehicle. this is why i thought it was the intake gasket. Does that sound like the case?

Checked the hoses, No leaks there

These engines are known for intake leaks and they will contaminate the oil if the gasket deteriorates badly enough. There are a few things on top of the engine though that commonly fail as well; thermostat gaskets and quick-connect hose ends are also problematic and could have fluid running down the area you are looking at. It's hard to say when I can't see it. A pressure test and second opinion could save you from doing the intake needlessly.

More likely an intake leak, but it could be anything, rad, hoses, cap, overflow bottle, quick-connect fitting on the block......
    Have it pressure tested.

could be intake, could be head gasket. take the radiator cap off and fill it to the brim with water, then start the engine and look for bubbles in the water. you might have to top it off while it's running to get a good reading. if any of the plugs you took out were much cleaner than the rest, or had a white crust deposit on them, the head gasket is probably the culprit.

99 suburban leaking from oil cooler fitting on radiator

It sounds like you might have a crack in the plastic tank of the radiator. If the line was leaking, I would think you'd see some oil leaking. Any anti-freeze leaking? When the truck is cooled down, I'd check the anti-freeze and oil level.

Loosing antifreeze but no leaks

The loss of antifreeze with no apparent leaks could be the sign of many things including blown head gasket, cracked tank, or leaking water pump. I would lean toward a head gasket first. Have you checked the oil for signs of antifreeze? A head gasket won't leak until the system is under pressure and running at normal temperature. You could also have a cracked head although that is pretty rare. Check the oil and plugs for signs of anti freeze. Also check the tanks on the side of the radiator they could be cracked which only leak while under pressure. Check all hose connections and if so equipped tranny cooler lines to make sure they are all attached correctly.

Leaking anti-freeze from back of motor onto exhaust-where would leak be most likely?

Rear crossover ports on the intake manifold, and/or freeze plugs at the rear of the engine. Also see if there is a hot water control valve for the heater in that area.

1999 Gmc Jimmy water leak under the transmission

I believe the heater hoses are on the pass side on your truck, but have you checked where the heater hoses go into the truck? Otherwise on the driver side I would check 2 things after I checked the hoses 1. Intake manifold check it up and down they are bad for leaking at one of the corners. and it could be running down the back onto the ground. 2. check the freeze plugs. if you can go to autozone see if they will loan you a coolant press test kit other wise they are about 30$ for one .With the car off top the coolant off and press the system to what the rad cap is rated 15 or 16 ect. get your flash light and chase the drip. I would say the intake is your first shot at finding it. if you have a uv light you can also add dye to the system let it run and find it. First get some thing to stand on get on over the intake and find the coolant just remember it can leak from here and run and drop there. hoses , intake , freeze plugs

Leak below flywheel.

pull off the tranny inspectiont cover and see if its wet in there, if it is its prob the front tranny pump seal if not and it is anti freeze youve go a hose leaking or intake manifold gasket leaking or a head gasket leak!!! either way the 4 wheel drive would have nothing too do with any of the leaks !!!!

1999 GMC Jimmy Running Hot w/ Engine coolant reservoir empty

I guess the burning question is , where is the coolant going.
Is this a 4.3 engine? How many miles does the vehicle have?
Has the intake gasket been changed?
I'm guessing a can of "Bars Leak" may cure your problem.
Let me know.
