I don't have any codes. How would you get codes besides a computer?

It started easily, went about 10 ft. and died. Now it won't start. It happened before and I replaced the power point fuse and it started. The power point fuse is good.

I pulled and cleaned the battery cables and it started. Apparently resetting the computer fixed something. Does this sound like a sensor?

check the codes, if a sensor has a problem with it or the circuit it is in there will be a code, if u can't do this have the Ford shop do it..

IF YOU HAVEN'T CHECKED THE CODES HOW DO U KNOW U DON'T HAVE ANY??? THERE IS NO WAY TO GET CODES UNLESS YOU HAVE A SCANNER TO PLUG INTO THE SYSTEM.

Did it start up easily right away?
Has it happened more than once?

I was asking because if the sensors are failing, they will shut the engine down, the cam position sensor is notorious for this, but the truck will generally restart, but will shut down at random.

If you have yet to replace the cam position sensor, there is a recall on the sensors. Contact the local dealer for information.

Failing this you will need to beg, borrow or steal a OBDII handset and read the codes. This can also be done with the performance handset if you or a friend has done a chip upgrade on your truck.

Most of these handsets will display error codes as a bonus feature.

Fuse keeps blowing!

The fuel injection fuse should also power the injectors. If the fuse is blowing, I would think one of the injectors has shorted to ground.
Have you checked them ?

Check your IPR for a short or bad connection to the plug. Look up on top by your fuel inlet for a plug with 2 wires. Have had alot of these with bad connections causing intermitent engine shutdowns!

It could be a problem with the fuel pump or igntion module/ coil pack. The next time it stops, fuel pressure needs to be checked and have the ignition coil pack and module tested at a local parts store.

locate the fuse box/relay panel I believe the fords had them in the engine compartment, it soulds like your fuel pump relay is stuck in the on position just pull it out and see if the pump stops.

Fuel pumps will not run!

Hey lets try this ! Locate your starter solenoid & look for a yellow wire marked with a "W" . That may be the fusible link for fuel pump. Let me know what you find.

tighten all fuel connections from filter to injector pump to injectors because if air is allowed in (between pressure pulses) then power loss will occur.
