You are dealing with a hub assembly there...Remove the brake assembly and rotor. Most hubs are held on by bolts from the outside as well as the large axle nut in the center. Sometimes after unbolting, you will find the hub is rusted in. It can be coaxed out using a chisel and lots of wd40. Get the new one before you start it will help you identify what you are removing.

Replace bearings in front transaxle

If the bearings are worn there will be more to just replacing the bearings. The gear mesh pattern has changed so when you replace just the bearings there's a chance there will be an annoying noise coming from the final drive unit that won't go away. It may be necessary to replace the output gears .

Hello texasjagfan: My name is Roger and I will help you. The front hub bearings are press out bearings and you will need a press in order to change them. You will need to remove the front spindle to gain access to the bearings. You also will need an alignment when finished replacing the front bearings. The rear bearings are a hub and bearing unit.

I have owned two envoys now one 2001 one 2004 and both fuel pumps have went in them and front bearings just wondering why it keeps happening is there anyone else with these problems

there are many factors ur dealing with /fuel pumps are on and running constant like any other mechanical equipment over heats wears out craftsmanship i changed pumps on vehicles 10 yrs old with 120,000 ml than have same one back 2yrs later for a new one or 3yrs old veh out of warranty they just fail,as for bearings-- factors such as road conditions heavy loads 4x4 use high mileage non maintenance cause to wear faster and break down

Whineing sound on R-hand side of my Malibu (wheel bearing i guess

it all depends on which type of bearings are fitted to the front hubs if there are 2 taper bearings fitted I:E one at either side of the hub then you can get away with knocking them out with a copper dollt. If it is one continuous bearing running through the hub then it is easer to press it out rather than trying to knock it out

Noisy front wheel bearing

It is possible but i do reccomend changing the bearing races in the hub when you do it to prevent any premature wear on your new bearings. A new hub/rotor assembly will come with new races installed if that makes it any easier.
