Question about 2004 Kia Optima
I recently locked my keys in my car (2004 Kia Optima) and a deputy opened the car door with his lockout tool (think slim jim; it slipped down into the door from the window panel). Now my driver's side door will not open from the inside. Something with the handle must have been messed up when he was moving the toll around inside of the car. Is this an easy fix, or will it require a professinal?
Most of the time the clip breaks or pops off the linkage --remove door panel and look at the linkages

He probably pulled a rod off inside your door when he was probing. Or it may have gotten bent. You will be able to see what happened if you take your panel off.
Apparently, this happens quite often, and a lot of police depts. won't help you any more for this reason.
