Question about 2003 Ford Focus
As these lights are flickering on and off they make a clicking sound. Sometimes the odometer light and wand move and sometimes the radio or CD player are interupted as this happens. I took the car to the Ford dealership service dept the first time this happened and they could not find anything wrong after running a diagnostic. It did it once again a few days later but only for a few mintues. I went several weeks without problems but now the abs and brake lights are doing their dance again. The only suggestion from the Ford service dept is that it could be the altenator going bad but I would think if that were the case it would have already gone out on me.
Any thoughts as to what could be the cause of this? Thank you
It sounds as if you have a corroded or loose connection or there is a problem in the instrument cluster module.
See the instrument cluster is actually a computer module and it sounds like it is resetting either from a loss of power or ground or something is spiking it.
I would have the dealer take another look at it and have them do a network test and also check for ALL continuous memory codes to see if there isn't some network codes(U codes) stored in memory.
