from what Ive read it's seems that.I need to replace a wheel hub.

I checked the car while parked rev the engine no problem.sounds normal.

A high vvvrrr Sound starts around 20 miles per hour.Increasing with engine load.also when i take my foot off the gas the sound is a deeper moan.

On the drivers side floor board.I noticed slight vibration.Car is in good shape otherwise.

I only drive highway miles,Brand new tires,New coolant,Oil change ever two months,Trans fluid changed at 35000.

Car has only 48000 mi and its a 2004 Grand am Gt

Could be a bearing hub starting to go...Times like this wish I could be there!!! Hearing and driving it would tell me what it is in ten minutes! Perhaps you could have someone from a good shop just drive it and get their opinion. If its a bearing hub, it's not terribly difficult to do.

Check the metal shields on the exhaust system if they come loose they can drive you crazy. (can be re-attached with sheet metal screws)

I also have a 04 grand am gt with 81,000 miles on it, and I had the same problem... but the problem only occurred when I installed the new cd player in the car, so I had Dukes re-run the wires and the buzzing sound went away, which was about 7 months ago.

Hope that helps.

Do the 2004 Grand Am's have a history of electrical problems? My daughter's car has gone through 3 starters in 9 months. Now car won't start at all. Mechanic said to disconnect the battery and reconnect...

I have had the car for 3 years now and have never had any issue at all, even on temperatures below 0 degrees it starts really fast. My car has 135,000 miles now. Can you provide more information? How does the car sound when trying to start it? Does it click, is there a relay buzzing sound? You should check the battery to see if it's damaged, also, are you buying cheap starters ?

2004 pontiac grand prix wont start..lights are bright and work fine. I just hear a buzzing sound when trying to start..

This sounds like either the starter or starter solenoid is bad. You can take the starter off and take it to O'riely's or Autozone. And they will check the starter and solenoid for free. The solenoid is attached to the starter.

2004 grand prix no go with traction control light on.

I had the same problem with my car. I cleaned the throttle body and when i installed everything back, the car would throw 2 OBD codes: P0120 at start up and P0507 when it stalled at a red light. Took it to the dealership and they had to install a new throttle body because the throttle position sensor is internal. Cost = $718.00 out the door. Part is about $480 and labor is 1.8 hours at $99.00/hr (bunch of ****). There is only a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty for work from the dealer so I would recommend doing the work yourself if possible. There is only 2 bolts on top, 2 nuts on bottom, 1 electrical connection, and 1 hose clamp.

Take your car to a dealer and tell them to "clean the throttle body" Known problem for this year. It will solve your issue.
