Question about 1994 Ford Escort
My car is a Ford Falcon ED GLI sedan1994. Fuel level, speed, and temperature indicators work ok. After having reset the trip counter the kilometers no longer register. I have replaced the cluster with one I brought from a wreckers, but this did not work either. This one could also be faulty. It appears the trigger source is a pulse generator, as no mechanical connection is there. Could you tell me where the sensor is located. Iam reluctant to pull the cluster apart as the clear plastic cover seems to be glued together making removal difficult. If this is the only possibility I will practise on the wreckers cluster first.
Thank you Errol.
If this happened just after resetting, then the speedo gauge on instrument cluster is probably faulty.
When this problem happens you start checking the speed sender, then undo instrument cluster and check speed sender connector and voltages to instruments. If wiring are ok, then you replace the gauge.
In your case it is most likely the gauge.
