Question about 2007 Chevrolet Uplander LS Minivan

1 Answer

Uplander 2005 40000 miles difficult to get in gear.

Hi, I need to push the brake pedal all the way to the bottom to do so, and usually only works after 1 minute of warming up the car.

Usually OK once the car has been running for a while and is parked for 1-2 hours, getting gear shifter into D is easy then

thanks

My nissan pulsar 2000 automatic.gear lever sticks in park.

Hi Jenn. All vehicles have a shifter interlocker system , it's a safety feature that won't allow the shifter to be put into gear ,unless the drivers foot is pressing the brake pedal . Do your brake lights work ? This is just a general idea on how it works , because all car makes don't do it the same ! On the brake pedal under the dash is a switch an when you press the brake pedal it allows power to go to a solenoid unlocking the shifter ,allowing the driver to put the vehicle into gear ! You would need to find a wiring diagram so you could check voltage at the brake switch , into an out of the brake switch with the pedal pushed ! Then find the lock out solenoid an see if power is being applied to it ! Hope this helps

Do I need the rear axle abs sensor wire harness for a 2007 chevrolet uplander

Only if you want the ABS portion to work otherwise you will just have power brakes that will lock up under heavy brake pedal push.

My clutch will not engage when I push it in. It will Barely allow me to put the stick into gear and it is very difficult to get out of gear as well. It feels as though the pedal is giving no resistance...

sounds like clutch needs replaced has it been over 50,000 miles. if fluid needs added its not a good sign may be a leak. with an hydraulic clutch there is a small reservoir near brake reservoir under hood on the firewall for clutch fluid.

Won't go into gear.push button and shifter won't move

Hi, this problem is usually caused by a faulty stop light switch above the brake pedal. Are your brakes light working? If not, replace the switch. The cost is only $8 at autozone. A picture of the switch is included below.

The gear will not go into park and allow the truck to start nor move to any gear

HI the problem you are having is with the brake light switch if the switch isnt working then it wont allow you to change the gear.

get someone to check the lights for you have the ignition on and press the brakes and get someone to see if the brake lights come on, if they dont then the brake light switch will need replacing, the switch is located on the back of the brake pedal, its a bit difficult to get to and you have to get on your hands and knees and have a close look at the brake pedal the switch is located at the very top of the pedal and at the back you should see it it will have a couple of wires going to it.

if the brake lights are working then check that the brake lights are on when you try changing the gear you may need to press the brake pedal down a bit harder so the brake light switch works.

let me know if the brake lights are working then ill assist you further if the lights dont work then its the brake light switch that needs replacing.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

I have a Chevy 2005 uplander. When I try to shift out of park it stays locked up. In the manual it says that there is a torque lock and my mechanic says that it should release when the brake is...

hello, sounds like you need to change the switch, sounds like the switch is going bad, because it is taking time to let you put your car in gear, soon as you put foot on brake the switch should activate, almost immediatley, then put the car in gear, i had a nissian , that did this, went to junkyard, bought used one for 20.00. new one was about 50.00. still working today.

Shift gear is stuck on park and can't get it out of gear.

Hi there,

There are multiple things that must all happen in order for the shifter to move from park.

1. Make sure the key ignition switch is in the "Run" position (the position just before the "start" position).

2. Brake pedal is depressed (usually pushed in a couple of inches or more at least to release the button on the shifter).

3. Push in the button on the shifter and pull back (you may need to push the shifter slightly forward or back a little for the button to move freely).

If the button on the shifter still doesn't push in freely, there is a problem with the mechanical lock-out linkage or electronic switch that releases the button lock. Check under the dash area along the brake pedal arm for anything that doesn't look correct.

4. If the car is on an incline/slope/hill, it will put a lot of pressure on the parking pin in the transmission. Usually a strong tug or pull on the shifter will pull it out while you're pushing on the brake pedal to prevent rolling when it releases. Make sure to set the parking/emergency brake first to prevent this next time .

Good Luck!!

Thanks

2005 chevy uplander having diffculty putting into Drive. sometimes have to wait 5 min some type of sensor most be going bad

check the brake lights and see if they work when this problem happens, U may have a problem with the Park lock system, this locks the gear shift out until the brake pedal is pushed, then a electric solenoid releases a pin and allows u to come out of park, if the brake lights check ok then the solenoid may be sticking at times. Does this sound more like your problem?
