    there is a hole and down in the hole there is a small bolt.. would that be the clip your talking about?

  • adamcramm Apr 15, 2009

    thank you so much.. i over looked that clip twice before i knew that i was looking for it.. at a glance it looked like a bolt that was holding the tray down.. at a closer look i could actually see the lip holding the battery.. thank you again..

Look down either the front or backside of the battery side.... you will see a clip there holding the battery. undo the nut and the battery will come out.

please take a moment to rate this solution thanks

    it may be.... usually the clip is on the side of the battery at the bottom.... look on all sides... if you can't see it try that bolt tho it may be for the battery tray itself

If the engine will not crank, you'll need to know if you have power at the starter posts. It could be the neutral switch or the starter relay.

Spare tire mount on 1986 Sieraa Classic

I had a similar problem with an 88 F250. Measure the tire height with tire standing, then measure space between hitch and measure frame from same place.
If the space between the frame would allow the tire to fit without the hitch, you need a wider hitch. If your current hitch has room for the tire you are all set.
Usually a heavier class hitch will have wider mounting points, but be aware that access to put in bolts may require you to weld the hitch to the truck.

I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy and my battery constantly needs recharging we have a new battery, alternator, and fuel pump and it still does it we also checked the connections and wires. We are at a lost please...

charging voltage to battery should be;
13.6 to 14.2 - the lower the voltage the higher the charging amps i.e:
13,6 = 55 amps
14.2 1209 amps
example only.

I had the same problem with my 2001. I found it was the multi function switch. Better known as your turn signal switch. I found that the hazard switch portion of it had shorted. replacement is fairly easy, aftermarket part is available, much cheaper than GM.
