Thank you for the quick response goalie39. I was just looking thru the owners manual and it indicates the lights are to come on as soon as the ignitition is turned on. The lights actually don't come on until placed in drive (which the manual doesn't say anything).

Yes, this is a feature added by Chrysler to draw attention to the signal and make it easier to see.

The day time running lamps come in different configurations, some come on with the key, some when the park brake is released, and some come on only when the vehicle is in gear. Systems change in mid production, but the manual is already printed, sometimes the manufacturer will add loose pages with model updates if they determine it to be important enough to print and insert the corrections. Hence the line in most printed material." manufacturer reserves the right to change specifications as needed"

Sound like you have it all figured now. have a great day.

Where is the low headlights fues on 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

Most headlight fuses are next to the battery, but some low beams are incorporated into the daytime running lights. Check the relay too for a signal from the dash switch and check for constant power side of relay also. One side is main power that gets relayed to the low beams and the other part of the relay is the side that gets the signal from the dash switch, one side is ground and the other is power, but the dash switch needs to be on headlights to diagnose.

My high beam light is flashing on and off in day but when I turn the lights on it goes off. Also, I now have now day time running lights.

Daytime running Light module is overheating / it reduces power to low beam to create daytime running light . Ask yourself do I need this - If no law against it = UNPLUG control module . Your low beams will operate normal by turning on switch - Lever / Turn switch will turn on Highbeams but this switch can be Lose internally and Only cure is replace Signal Light Steering wheel switch . Common issue for all Cars is switch stalk / Lever is worn out by Aggressive use. If your car has Automatic light control - re they turn off after 30 second delay when you exit car - Try putting switch in manual mode means you Turn on - off by switch . But I really feel signal stalk is worn . DRCM is a known issue that can be unplugged . Final cheap solution unplug both high beams an Drive on low beam . $$$$$$$ spent chasing small problem will destroy $$$ needed for Bigger issues .

We have a 2006 torrent that the daytime running lights do not work when gear set to "drive".The lights are set to auto. What is the problem

did this get resolved?
I'm having the same issues.
I'm unable to drive if daytime running lights is set to auto. It'll run after starting it on auto DRL, however when shift gear to drive and giving it some gas, it powers down the entire vehicle.
I have to turn light switch to on position in order to drive the vehicle at all. ???????????????
