Question about 1999 Ford Explorer

How do I remove the rear wiper arm on my 1996 Ford Explorer?

I want to repaint the rear wiper arm but I need to remove it first.  It looks like there is a pin lock but I'm not sure if that releases the entire arm assembly.  I appreciate any help!

Pull the wiper arm away from the glass until it is straight out. Then take a small flat blade screw driver and release the retaining clip at the base of the pivot arm. The carefully pry the pivot arm from the shaft.

96 Ford Explorer driver side wiper stopped working and just flops around with no tension holding it in place. Is there only one motor? if so maybe the arm came loose. Passenger side works fine.

one motor, remove the arm & hope the rotating asy isn't worn smooth. if it is you will have to remove both wiper arms & the front cowl then replace all the worn parts & reassemble the vehicle

How do I remove the rear wiper arm? I need to repaint it and it's necessary to remove it first, of course. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
