Question about 1998 GMC Jimmy

Over heating 89 gmc S15 4x4 4.3

Guys....I have an 89 S15 w/ a 4.3 v6, it has 340,000 + miles on it, without the valve covers ever being off. The old girl runs great, but overheats....the radiator seems clean, a new fan clutch, new water pump and still, without the thermostat, it still over heats. Could it be the catlytic converter?? (It still has the original.) Does good on cool days, but days over 75 degrees.....she'll boil. Many thanks, Bruce

Do you hear the converter rattling?? and you can start the truck and feel the end of the exhaust and see if it feels like it is blowing the exhaust out

The heated seats are not working on a 2003 GMC Yukon, the control on the door and on the seat does nothing. The fuse is not blown. Any ideas?

what you are sitting on is an expensive toaster. sit on your toaster every day all day long, leave it out in the heat and cold and see how long it lasts. either the elements have burned through, or the built-in circuit breaker is dead. any other seat that old will be the same way. ask a GMC service manager what other year seats will bolt in and go buy the latest model used one you can find. then buy seat covers to make them all match. failing that pay for a New Old Stock one, it will no doubt be pricey. The car is worth exactly the same with or without a heated seat.

89 GMC 5.7L. P/U When driving after a few miles the truck dies. Let it cool down and it starts back up till it warms up then it dies again.Sometimes i go 2 miles or 20 miles just depends.

Check the primary and secondary resistance of your coil. Also check spark plug wire resistance. The coil will short out when it heats up if it is going bad.

My 2007 GMC 1500 With the V8 has the add oil lite coning on after about 4000 miles after the last 2 oil changes.. only have 43000 miles and the oil is not showing on the dipstick

GM HAS A BULLETIN OUT PIP4574E

THE BULLETIN PERTAINS TO AN OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE. IT INVOLVES THE LEFT HAND VALVE COVER AND THE LIFTERS. THE LIFTERS ARE THE MAIN CONCERN, THEY PUMP TOO MUCH OIL AND IT GETS PUMPED INTO THE VENT HOLES IN THE PCV AREA OF THE VALVE COVER ALLOWING IT TO BE SUCKED UP INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND BURNED.

BOSTRUCK IS CORRECT ABOUT YOUR WARRANTY.
