There could be several issues that could cause your GMC Envoy's transmission to not shift gears properly and the RPMs to rev high. Here are a few potential problems that you may want to consider:
Low transmission fluid: If the transmission fluid is low, it could cause problems with the shifting mechanism. You'll want to check the transmission fluid level and add more if needed.
Faulty shift solenoid: The shift solenoid is responsible for directing transmission fluid to the appropriate gear. If the solenoid is faulty, it could cause shifting problems.
Worn transmission bands or gears: If the transmission bands or gears are worn, it could cause the transmission to not shift properly and the RPMs to rev high.
Clogged transmission filter: A clogged transmission filter can restrict the flow of transmission fluid, causing shifting issues.
Faulty transmission control module (TCM): The TCM is responsible for controlling the transmission. If it's not functioning properly, it could cause shifting problems.
I would recommend having a mechanic diagnose and fix the problem for you. It's important to address transmission issues promptly, as they can lead to further damage if left unchecked.
if its an automatic its not suppose to start in any gear other then park or neutral. . if it dose the net switch is broke. if it only goes into drive your linkage could be broke or the computer is fried. and you have internal gear damage. take it to the shop
The problem is a gear internal failure the gear who drive the speed sensor is defect the is why you don't have speed sensor reading. There is a way you can verify that remove the speed sensor drive it with a drill check the dashboard you will see.
suggest you check for a vacum line off that goes to the transmission modulator valve, which controls the shifting in transmission.or may possibly just be a bad modulator valve on the side of the transmission. 1st check for a vacum line off, with engine running do you hear a whistling or air sucking sound on top or rear of motor? if so, follow that sound to a hose or small black hose thats off.if you are driving the car and start off in low drive and can manually shift to upper gears with no problems, your problem is either a vacum line off, or it's a bad modulator valve on the transmission. hope this helps!!!
Try going to your local parts store (such as AutoZone) and ask about the transmission control solenoid. Go here for the direct link to their website with that specific part for your 91 maxima.
The Lebaron, depending on which model has either a 14 or 16 gallon tank. A 1990 Spirit gas tank has only a 16 gallon tank. If your Lebaron has a 16 gallon tank it is exactly the same part.
revs up high but has new fluids just dont know what is can be
