I'm having the same issue. It worked for the last 13 years and now suddenly only minor sound comes out, if it is all the way up. Seems like the amp is somehow not working. ASP5824 suggested cutting the tmute wire, but didn't say how to find it.

the culprit was water. There was a leak and the power amp is under the passenger seat which is where the water collected so it shorted out the amp. once it dried out - everything was working again.

I had this same issue. My radio had a very soft sound when it was turned up all the way. I found that it was the tmute setup used for hands free phone option. (I did not have this option). I found a wiring diagram and cut the tmut wire on the amp, to my surprise it work. the amp was the only component I could get to. this work for me, I hope it helps.

On my 2002 rx300 lexus the display screen is not working and the radio is also not working

Possibly this is due to a blown fuse. Check the fuses behind the panel under the dash, also check the fusebox under the hood near the battery.

Do I need to replace the front power outlet on 2002 Lexus RX300?

I assume you are talking about the cigarette lighters?

These are both normally on the same circuit. It sounds like you have a loose wire on the front lighter. You would have to remove the assembly to check it.

Removing the Radio for Lexus Rx300

take the woodgrain cover off around shifter, it pops off. next pull out the small panel just below the radio, pull it straight out towards you, set it aside. there are 4 bolts holding the radio in, you will need a light to see the back 2. remove these bolts and carefully pull radio straight out.

? to Replace Timing belt on 2000 Lexus Rx300 with 57,000 miles.

If it is running perfectly I wouldn't think that you would need to replace the timing belt. You shouldn't need to replace that until 100,000-120,000 miles. I would definitely hold off until now unless you have start having some timing problems. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

Cd changer not playing

Check fuses. There are two fuses to this stereo. One that hold memory for the clock and stereo preset buttons and one for turning the stereo on. There are usually two fuse boxes, on inside the vehicle and one under the hood near the car's battery. Again, check ALL fuses. One is usually labeled for the radio/stereo, the other is not.
As for the CD changer, disconnect one of the main car battery terminals for several minutes. This is easier then removing the changer and acts as a reset. Possibley bringing the changer back to working condition. Otherwise, this could be a repair issue, see www.carstereohelp.com
