Power window problem on a 2003 jeep grand cherokee laredo

The door was slammed really hard when the window was down and now it wont go back up. when u press the switch it makes a clicking noise. ive taken the door panel and everything off but cannot figure out the problem..

    My motors are fine but the window won't go up and done unless you lift it manually. Can I put the belt back on myself?

Check the wires in the boot and see if any of the wires are broke. That was what was wrong with mine. any questions get back with me.

Well your motor is good sounds like your belt is off the gear inside the motor

Jeeps are really bad for the window regulators going bad. That's your problem. No fix for them, just replace it.

take off door panel and try to assist the window up if the track is not bent and the plastic wheels are not broke wedgeing the window and you can assist it up then the motor will edd replaced

The rear passenger window fell (slipped down) when we closed the door. There is no tension to hold the window up and the power control doesn't effect it. You can push the window up and down by hand but the...


remove door panel and check to see if glass is attached to bar that raises the window up and down as they do come loose
I would use a good glue check with the window repair for some
so you get the right stuff

Drivers Door Window/Locks aren't working


driver side lock and window switch... if its all one unit... i had a 95 cherokee laredo that did that... changed the switch and it fixed my problem...

Power window motor


Hold up on the switch and slam the door. If it is the motor this should work at getting it up. Hard to believe that both switches would go bad at the same time.

Back Doors


The problem you have posted suggests that the rod that goes between the latch and door handles has fallen off. Without destroying the inside panel on the door, see if you can somehow get a wire down to the latch assembly through the window opening to get it open, then take apart & repair.

Other blogs suggested that the black ground wire going from the door to the body of the jeep is bad. I had the same problem, pulled the rubber boot back and found that the ground wire had frayed in two. spliced it back together and bingo. it is a pretty heafty wire but apparently not flexible to handle the constand open and close motion of the door. good luck.

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee the power windows,power seat , door would not lock , and the inside lights would stay one ..i thought it was a fuse problem but no fuses for that ... in the rubber boot between the door and frame ..the was the ground wire was split ... put a **** connector on it everything works great now ....
