Question about 1999 Jaguar XK8
The only thing not functioning is power to the fuel pump, engine runs if fuled indipendantly, all relays are working, all fuses are intact, battery is new and fully charged, remote fob locks and unlocks the car and all functions work normally, the vehicle has had the battery disconected for the past 6 months due to us beeing abroad, vehicle was working properly before this problem, any suggestions will be greatfully recieved, thanks Car turns over but will not start after being jumped from another 12v source. Also have Engine Failsafe light on dash.
I had a similar problem on my car. It turns out that somewhere in my electrical lines the power to my fuel pump corroded. I had to jump power from another key-on fuse to power my fuel pump, because it would have been a real headache to find the problem wire. Have you tried a test light to see if you really don't have power to your fuel pump? Have you even replaced the fuel pump? Your pump might be froze up.If thats the case you will need a new one. I hope this helps.
