Question about 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

My ignition switch went on my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

I'm being told by the shop that there are 184 people waiting for this part and Chrysler can't tell them when they will be in. Is this a Mercedes part? How do I find out exactly what the part is and where I can go find one. I'm without warranty and concerned that Chrysler support may be nonexistant now....Please anyone advise.....Almost 3 weeks without a car now... Many thanks!!

    Hello Shack -

Thanks very much! I figured the same when I heard the numbers waiting. Are you out of luck when a recall is issued after the repair? No reimbursement? Hm... My shop informed me that they found a part from salvage & should be in by Thursday. $140 -- better than the $300 I was quoted for the new part. Just hope the housing doesn't fall apart on this one, as well.

Again, awesome fast response & I am grateful! :o)

Well 184 folks waiting on the same part. part dept cannot give you a date. that is national backorder.
that means no tell'in when. there should be a dealership service bulletin, that is what preceeds a recall.
you might try local retailers, online at last your friendly salvage yard also try out of town dealerships
maybe u can luck up and find one on the shelf.

Oil pressure switch location 04 crysler pacifica 3.5

It is impossible to replace have the dealer do it for 85 dollars. It is just above the oil filter between two other things and it is easy to replace if you rip the connector off instead of taking it off right. It took a repair shop 6 hours to replace it when I couldn't and it cost me 70 dollars money well spent. They told me 15 minutes
