Check the condition and operation of the slave cylinder. If the reservoir is low on fluid and the slave cylinder is leaking at the rod, replace it and bleed it at the slave. This is a common problem with a Toyota where the slave cylinder creates a leak. If the slave was fine, then the clutch needs replacement. have a good day !!

It sounds like your clutch isn't releasing properly. Do you need to adjust the pedal free play or bleed the hydraulics? If that doesn't fix it you may need take another look at the clutch you put in.

Clutch has to be pushed to the floor before you can shift without grinding gears.1991 Toyota 4x4 truck

Check your hydraulic clutch slave cylinder on the transmission for leakage and check the reservoir fluid level. If the reservoir has run low, you may have air in the lines. If the slave is leaking, replace the slave and bleed the system. Let me know if you need instructions or have more questions.

Sounds to me like your transmission is just plain worn out from running with no fluid in it. I have an early 5 speed from the 1988 Toyota that works fine if your interested. I have the same from an "84 in my "86 Toyota pickup I just took off the road last January. The '94/'95 should be the same if you want to keep your truck on the road. Mine had frame rot, typical of these trucks.

Wont shift into gear

Was the fluid low? Does the pedal have any resistance? does it feel normal? Did it happen all of a sudden? Does it shift into gear with the engine off? You say it doesnt shift into gear, but does the shifter move into gear or not? Or it does and the truck wont move? Sounds like maybe the SLAVE CYL isnt operating? leaking? theres more questions to answer.

Hydraulic Clutch Problem in an 82 Toyota Pickup

If you are leaking fluid from the clutch master cylinder then you have air in the system. You could try and bleed the air out of the clutch slave cylinder to get the gears but it would not last. The only way is to replace the defective master cylinder, replace all of the fluid and bleed out the air through the slave cylinder.
