2000 expedition multi-function switch connector wiring diagram

2000 ford expediton multi-function switch was believed faulty, when I removed it, the gray plastic adaptor " E6DB-14489-DA" was not holding the wires and so was probably not making a connection (turn signals did not work). I have a new E6DB-14489-DA, but all the wires are black but I'm not confident I can install the wires back in their correct location on the adaptor. Would anyone have a diagram or schematic available

can i get that diagram, i'm having the same problem

  • Anonymous Mar 18, 2014

I replaced my 1991 multi function turn signal switch with a new one. The plug that connects the wires under the dash was different, so I had to splice it. Four wires and all matched by color except the last two I put together. Can you tell me what the wires operate ? The windshield washer does not work and I'm not sure if it did before because the switch was broke when we bought the jeep.

Do you know how to use a volt meter ? Need to check for voltage at the motor ! , need a wiring diagram. Most of the time other people on here will tell you to check the fuse's , that doesn't end up being the cause ! Most of the time it's the motor or a wiring problem ! I have seen the wire in side the rubber boot ,when you open the rear hatch break causing a no power situation to the motor . If you open the rear hatch ,door ,lift gate , what ever you call it . If you look when it is open there is a rubber boot connecting the body to the door , there are wires in side . There have been known to break ! This next part is a FORD pinpoint test. This is how ford says how to check !

2002 ford expedition: no turn signals

Hello,
Ok well your the lucky owner of an Expediton. I have a few of these trucks in my fleet. The common problem in almost ALL Ford vehicles is the multifunction switch located to the right of your column which is the main switch for you wipers, turn signals, and high beams. Under the plastic column cover is three phillips screws. Remove them and unscrew the tilt lever on the right of the column by spining it with a tight grip counter clockwise. Gently pull the lower cover off and you will see two screws and a large gray plug or it may be black. The internal plastic switch pawl breaks and requires the complete ASSY needs replacing. Remove the plug by pulling out on the plugs tang and pull down on the plug being sure not to pull on the wires for this could create a contact issue later. Remove the screws holding the multi function/ turn signal switch. Replace the switch in reverse of removal. Test the operation before you assemble the column cover.

Directional signal only works sometime

If it is an intermittent problem, there are two likely causes. One-the multi-function switch. Two-the flasher is going bad. The first, from my experience, is the most likely, however the second is the less expensive of the two to replace. I would probably go for the multi-function switch. Make sure your brake lights are functioning normally, as your brake light wiring is connected to the multi-function switch.
