There are a couple of places. One is on the heads, the other is on the block. Or you can get your vin and a haynes manual and it will tell you.

Try spraying switch cleaner into the volume control and working it from side to side. It sounds like it may be worn, dirty or corroded.

The clutch pedal on my mk1 landrover discovery will not return when depresed.and i connot select any gears what could the problem be?

Sounds to me like your clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder is bad. One of them has leaked out all the hydraulic fluid. Have them inspected to see which is bad.

Discovery 2003 td 5 BMW engine there is a loss of coolant but no leak in the system.what is a good way to find out what the state of the head gasket is?

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

Please do check the coolant reservoir if it sits on the right level. Overfilling the coolant reservoir can cause a coolant overflow when the engine operates on higher temperature. Please do fill it and make sure that it sits on the right level.

Hope you find this helpful and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
