Question about 2005 Nissan Altima

Rear End noise

I have a 2006 Altima with rear end noise, sounds like it's coming from the passenger side. I've had the car for a year and a half and it has always been there through tires rotations/balances, and even after i changed the tires out. We've checked everything in the trunk and it's all secure and tight. It's REALLY loud when i run over bumps or the road is rough, but is quiet as long as the road is smooth. Any thoughts/suggestions?

I had the same issue with our 2005 Altima; we changed tires, balanced them but found that the front end and back end were out of alignment, which our mechanic noted was something that he was beginning to see on the 2005 and 2006 models.

Rear end noise when driving 2006 nissan altima

Your car has no "rear end" as people used to call them.
The "rear end" was a set of gears on the old rear wheel drive vehicles that put power to the back wheels.
Since you have a front wheel drive car, the problem you have is much easier to diagnose and repair.
You very likely have a bad rear wheel bearing or two on one side.
A way to tell is to spin the rear wheels one at a time and compare how much noise they make.
The bad one should be noisy.
I cannot think of any easy way to spin the rear wheels one at a time.
Perhaps using a "mechanic's stethoscope" might help.
Raise the car safely up in the air, crawl under the car, and place a long screwdriver tip against the center of the inside of the axle under the car where the wheel bearing are.
If you can't imagine where to put the screwdriver, get someone who knows to help you.
Put the handle in to your ear, and have someone spin the wheel by hand.
One should be noisier than the other.
Be blessed.

2004 Grand Prix GTP, motor mount & trans problems? Rear end problems?

noises or clunks in rear ends are indications of worn suspension rubbers and other rubber mounted items , drive line joint failures
the front end noise could be brake pad and rotor problems so have them checked by an accredited brake shop

Rear Suspension noise on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8

Check sway bar. On some models as suspension sags, sway bar outer ends will contact the body, leaving a mark or dent just above the end, causing a bang over bumps. Only way to correct this is to change springs or add a spring lift.

AC/Heat Fan runs continuously and Rear end roaring noise

Sounds like the wheel bearing on the right rear hub may be defective, that would cause the noise if the tires are ok. As far as the fan goes not sure this isn't working as designed.

it is either a tire or you have a wheel bearing going bad. sounds like a bad bearing. you can usually narrow down side by driving and turning the side that is bad will get louder when weight shifts to that side and quieter when weight shifts off
