Need to know which fuse is for the fuel pump- manual gone

Mice got into our truck a year or so ago and chewed up our manual. I want to check to see if a fuse is bad for our fuel pump before I put a bunch of time and money into replacing the fuel pump but I need to know which fuse goes to it since I don't have the manual.

Will need to completely drain and flush fuel system and tank for starters. May even need new fuel pump. Possible mice/rats/rodents have chewed through wiring. Need to get some oil on cylinder walls where it sat for those eight years. What does it do when trying to crank it now ?

Hi, the fuel pump wires are not in the tail fin. Check to see if the pet might have got under the car and chewed. Your diagram is below. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using Fixya.

I have a 97 gmc sierra w/ 5.7 vortec...the problem is, it turn over but wont start. had the fuel pump changed less than a year ago. also changed plugs less than a year ago as well. i know its a broad range...

Stand near the back of the truck and have a helper turn the ignition to 'ON'. The GM fuel pumps make a very loud, high-pitched whining noise, you will know if the pump is running or not. If not running, check fuses, could be fuel pump relay as well.

Fuel pump fuse blows

Check the fuel pump relay, i am not sure but i think there are two of them. Check the wire harness too, mice may have chewed in to the wires causing a shot in the system.
Good luck and hope this helps.

'03 Chevy Duramax won't start

there is a spot under the fuse pannel out under the hood that mice like to make nests and chew threw wires. its not a hard thing to pull the pannel. the cover comes off with a couple of snaps in between the motor and the fuse box.once you get it lifted out you then will need to unlatch the two on the pannel between the fender and the pannel. the pannel will flip up. if the truck sit alot there is were your problem probably is (you may want to check all the main and secondary fuses before you start)
