Fuel problem i have 1989 buick lesabre sometimes the car will quit running. it is like it is starving for fuel and if i let the car sit for a few minutes it will start back up and run fine till the naxt time

not getting fuel...does anyone know the model # for the fuel pump.

I had 2 replace my sensors then it stopped the problem until it gets cold but u let het warm up and shes great. sensors are about 20-30 dollars if you want to do it your self.

Clean battery cables. Check crank sensor, next time it will not start pour water on the sensor and if it cranks you will know what to replace.

Hello. It seems either your ignition module is malfunctioning and/or you engine has a case of 'vapor lock'. 'Vapor lock' happens when fuel 'percolates' becomes a vapor instead of liquid; starving the engine of fuel. Of course, the engine won't start until it cools. Tail lights quit working on 89 buick lesabre...also dash lights

check your dash ground. the tail lights and dash lights run on the same circuit.

if the fuse is good, a ground is your most likely culprit.

2005 BUICK LESABRE TACHOMETER DOES NOT REGISTER WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING. SOMETIMES IT BARELY MOVES, THEN GOES BACK TO 0
SAME CAR HAD SPEEDOMETER QUIT, REPLACED WITH NEW SENSOR, DROVE ABOUT 1300 MILES AND IT QUIT AGAIN. CLEANED THE SENSOR, WORKS OK NOW.

you say it has been sitting for sometime and thats the problem,you have a fuel problem you dont mention the [fuel filter]have you changed it and when you have done so remove the air filter and try to start,this engine is starving of fuel or air ,but i suspect when it fires it will be ok.adrian,,

Best to do a fuel pressure test, pump might be weak and dosent show up until it gets gets warm. Best to do the test after it quits again when pump is at its hottest. If you havent done it yet chg. fuel filter too.

get a tune up ie...change plugs and wires...fuel filter, air filter, and check to see if you have a VATS system in your car

Car stalls after 5min.

Have you checked the cam position sensor, it is also called a pickup coil. I have ran into this problem alot and that is what was wrong, sometimes it would not make the cheak engine light come on.
