Question about 2000 Alfa Romeo 156
Engine cuts out; won't start again for 30 mins; then it runs for maybe 10, 15 minutes before cutting out again
Honestly, I've not seen an alfa romeo here in the philippines but i think you problem is partly electrical and the electronic side of the car. something on your car is heating up so much that it cuts the power to the ignition once it has. it is a possibility that a damaged ignition coil or a faulty computer box(if your car has one) or the control system that regulates the spark distribution system or the injectors(if your car is fuel injected type).

Commen problem on the 19jtd version, there is a cranckshaft position sensor close to the left drive shaft (i think) that is heating up while you drive. At a certain temperature it does not send the required data to the CDI, so the CDI does not know when to ignite and he quits.
Once cooled down everything works again for a little while, replace the sensor and you'll be fine.
