I have a 1989 Chevy s10 with a 2.8 L engine. When you take off it will cut out. Even at 60 mph down the highway it wants to stall like it not getting fuel. If you push the clutch in it will die. And when you floor it the truck will run fine. I have tried several things and can't figure it out

SOURCE: stalling out at highway speed 1998 chevy metro 1.0

Generally stalling out while cruising could be a crank sensor, fuel pump, or ignition module. Being it only happens intermittantly I would suggest getting it checked out by a pro before you get stranded. This is the type of complaint that can be a nightmare to diagnose so be prepared for an expensive diag

2002 regal would slow down going up hills then

the catalytic converter most likely is no the sorurce of the problem, older design bead type Cat converters used to plug, but it is very rare on the newer ceramic honeycomb cats, u need to have the electronic engine control tested, are u getting a check engije light? if not has the fuel filter been replaced every 30,000 miles? also a part called the Mass Airflow sensor can cause these symptoms as well as igntion system problems.

2003 Cuts off when hot, will not start untill cool

My 2003 nissan sentra would get hot and stall out even in middle of highway doing 70 mph. The guages would go up and down. Would not start up all the time after stalling. had to cool down first. Nissan said it was head gasket, and wanted to charge 1000.00 for the job. I took to local dealer who charged me 550.00. Works fine ever since. Nissan dealer said they do like 3 head gaskets a week on the sentras. They have crappy ones in original parts. They have not recalled though.

Cars stalls at highway speeds.

Does it run good when it is runnig as good as it used to? Is the check engine light on or does it come on before it stalls? If it weret for the days of computers just sounds like overheating as from clogged exhaust

1987 CHEVY CORVETTE CUTS OFF SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING

Could be just about anything, but given that I had the same symptoms that turned out to the fuel pump, I would check that if you haven't already. Mine would run fine for a while, particularly when it was cold, and tested fine at the shop, but after a while under load, it turned out the pressure would suddenly drop to about 15 pounds. A real pain to diagnose, since when it was in the shop it wasn't under load, so it tested OK.

Vam stalling

there are too many reasons...

it could be fuel pump,, it could be ignition coil overheating, it could be the computer itself...

you need two things for the engine to run,

1 is gas
2nd is ignition,,

with these two misfiring or your loosing one of them, it will stall...

i hope i was able to give you some thoughts....
