Jeep is leaking into cab

How much would a seal be for the rubber seal that goes in between the hood and the windo right where it folds down mine has dry rotted and is leaking into my cab and iam affraid its going to burn my heater up its already got my cd player

Why do I hear an air leak by driver dashboard on my 2005 jeep Cherokee laredo


blower on of off? or both,,,,, sigh.
if blower off, its vacuum noise
if blower was on, then just a simple air leak, a loose duct.

my guess that is a vacuum leak.? Im deaf here, so......
why not get a live mechanic to find the leak.?
to find it , I use an rubber hose to my ear, then find the exact location.
or wait till it fails. HVAC damper goes dead.
the fsm covers all this in the HVAC chapter.

in europe a cherokee is a Liberty (odd huh?) and thus the confusion.
my guess is its a grand

mines all electric dampers , starting in 2005.
the brake booster can leak and his. and might sound
load above right foot of drivers toes.
use a rubber hose to ear and learn to year leak locations

Mazda Bt50 cab leaks on drivers side


I recently purchased a 2008 BT50 dual cab then 2 days later we had 500mm of rain and of course it leaked :( I had about 80mm of water on the drivers side floor and 30mm on the passenger side floor. I stripped the interior out of the car and started hosing the outside and watching where it was coming in. I took all the windscreen surrounds off and the cowl panel off below the screen there was no water coming in from that area. I had taken the gutter seals off but left the door seals on so the water was running down around the outside of the seals (with the door shut) and out at the bottom. From inside near the drivers side kick panel I could see water coming through seams in the metal work and when I took the door seal rubber off the body on the car I could see water was getting in at the top of the door seal rubber going down the front inside edge of the rubber and getting in through the seam where the rubber push's onto the body of the car (first problem). I took all the door seal rubbers off and run a bead of non corrosive silicon inside the cavity and pushed them back on. It seemed to have fixed the problem I dried the carpet and put it back together..Two weeks later we got another 325mm of rain and it leaked again :( not near as bad this time. Looking at the bottom of the door where the door trim meets the door I could see water coming from behind the trim and then into the car. I took the door trims off and could see water gets in when the window is up (all cars do) and is supposed to run out the drain holes in the bottom of the door but the water was dripping and splashing up to the back side of the door trim against the sheet of plastic that is supposed to seal against the door with the black mastic (it doesn't) and running straight into the car. I cut some plastic and siliconed them onto each opening on the inside of the door frame and then put the factory piece of plastic on as well (properley this time) as a backup.
So far so good.

My 1993 dodge dakota sports is leaking water into the cab on the passenger side its not threw the air vents and my ac fuse blows out evertime it happens


The only way water can get into the cab is either a blocked air vent drain, leaking windscreen seal or rubber, damaged panel joint, badly sealing wiper arm. badly sealing door. Try and follow a possible trail. Water will move great distances before dropping so the leak could be far from the results.

Rain leaks in on passenger side from below dash on passenger side on my 1999 oldsmobile intrigue. Not everytime it rains but often.


has the ac blower motor been under dash been replaced ? my brother replaced mine but didnt rain for a while so when there was standing water in the floor board didn't even think about it but after a small wreck and in the process of replacing right fender and hood had to take off cowl vent panel so decided to look and see if could find leak and sure enough there is a rubber seal around the hole the blower motor fits in and it was not seated correctly reached down seated no more leak hope this help worth checking any way

Oil leak in my 92 jeep cherokee


The most likely place for an engine to start leaking oil (when it's coming from the top and not the bottom) is around the valve covers -- the gasket goes bad. Next most likely is camshaft seals.

Sometimes just tightening the valve cover botls will stop it or at least reduce it.

Wet Headliner


You likely have a water leak around the 3rd brake light mounted on the top rear of the cab. I had this same issue on my 96 Ranger Supercab and found that the foam seal had gone bad and was allowing water to leak into the back of the headliner around the light fixture. It ended up soaking the headliner from one side to the other as the headliner acts as a 'wick'. You can repair this issue by either replacing the sealant around the 3rd brake light or replacing the brake light. There are two screws which secure the 3rd brake light assembly to the back of the cab. Remove these and it will pop right out. I upgraded mine to an LED light when I replaced it. That solved two issues at once as I'll never need to change a bulb there again. If you want to be cheaper you can not replace the light and just seal it with rubber silicone sealer.

is it water or coolant? if it's just rain water, open passenger door and check around door frame for any holes that the rubber seals should be in are unplugged. if so just plugg them back in. also open hood and check area right below windshield, there should be a rubber strip the lenth of the window, make sure it's press firmly down. look down further to see if any holes where rain can get in, if so plug them up. if it's coolant, it's probably a heater hose . good luck

Replacing radiator 95 Jeep GC


No it is not difficult to replace a radiator it can be done with basic handtools I would not suggest a used radiator, if at all possible spend a little extra now and buy one with the best warranty (lifetime) available although with a new one you are looking at approx $250 plus coolant. Here is the proper procedure for replacment

See Figures 9, 10 and 11
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Open the radiator valve and drain the cooling system.
  3. Remove the fan and shroud assembly.

  1. If equipped, disconnect the automatic transmission cooling line quick-fit connections.
  2. Matchmark the upper radiator crossmember and adjust the crossmember to the left or right.

  1. Eight clips are used to retain a rubber seal to the body. Gently pry up the outboard clips (2 per side) until the rubber seal can be removed. Do not remove the seals entirely. Fold back the seal on both sides to access the grille opening reinforcement mounting bolts and remove the bolts.
  2. Remove the grille.
  3. Remove the upper brace bolt from each of the 2 radiator braces.
  4. Remove the crossmember-to-radiator mounting nuts.
  5. Working through the grille opening, remove the lower bracket bolt securing the lower part of the hood latch or hood latch cable from the crossmember.
  6. Lift the crossmember straight up and position it aside.
  7. If equipped with A/C, remove the 2 A/C condenser-to-radiator mounting bolts which also retain the side mounted rubber air seals.
  8. If not equipped with A/C, remove the bolts retaining the side mounted rubber air seals compressed between the radiator and crossmember.
Note the location of the air seals. To prevent overheating, they must be installed in their original position.
  1. Disconnect the coolant reservoir/overflow tank hose from the radiator.
  2. Disconnect the upper hose from the radiator.
  3. Carefully lift the radiator a slight amount and disconnect the lower hose from the radiator.
  4. Lift the radiator up and out of the engine compartment, take care not to scrape the fins or disturb the A/C condenser if equipped.
If equipped with an auxiliary automatic transmission oil cooler, use caution during radiator removal. The oil cooler lines are routed through a rubber air seal on the left side of the radiator. Do not cut or tear this seal.
To install:

  1. Lower the radiator into the vehicle. Guide the alignment dowels into the hoses in the rubber air seals and then through the A/C support brackets, if equipped. Continue to guide the radiator through the rubber grommets located in the lower crossmember.
If equipped with A/C, the L-shaped brackets, located on the bottom of the condenser, must be positioned between the bottom of the rubber air seals and top of rubber grommets.
  1. Connect the lower radiator hose to the radiator.
  2. Connect the upper radiator hose to the radiator.
  3. If equipped with A/C, install the bolts condenser-to-radiator mounting bolts.
  4. If not equipped with A/C, install the rubber air seal retaining bolts.
  5. Connect the reservoir/overflow tank hose to the radiator.
  6. If the radiator-to-upper crossmember rubber insulators were removed, install them.
  7. Install the hood latch support bracket-to-lower frame crossmember bolt.
  8. Install the bolts securing the upper radiator crossmember to the body.
  9. Install the radiator-to-upper crossmember nuts.
  10. Install a bolt to each upper radiator brace.
  11. Install the grille.
  12. Position the rubber seal and push down on the clips until seated.
  13. If equipped, connect the transmission cooling lines.
  14. Install the fan shroud with the fan.
  15. Install the fan and shroud.
  16. Rotate the fan blades and ensure they do not interfere with the shroud and at least 1 inch (25mm) of clearance is allowed. Correct as necessary.
  17. Fill the cooling system.
