Turn off the tire indicated light on a 2005 toyota highlander

The Tire indication light turned on when I changed the spare and I don't know how to turn it off. A local machanic informed me that the spare does not have the sensor, I recentely purchased four new tire and place the spare back to it's original place, but the light is still on. It's probably not a big thing but it is annoying

With my 05 highlander the low pressure light keeps coming on and I check my tires regularly and make sure that they have 45 pds pressure in them. Even when I reset the switch after checking the tires and making sure the correct pressure is in them the light will come back on a few days later. This has been going on for about a year now and it is getting annoying. I have also taken that car to be looked at and the tries are checked and only 1 time was their a nail found to be in the tires all the other times things were fine. Any suggestions I was thinking of having the thing disconnected?

This can be annoying though you should not ignore it. You have done what i would have suggested but you might finally take the car for scan though it does not pose a treat.

Take care.

Tire pressure warning light stays after I have checked the pressure in all tires and they are within specs. The manual tells me to push the reset button to turn it off. Where is the reset button locate...

I had the same issue. The spare tire also has a sensor, so make sure you check the tire pressure of that tire as well.
The reset button is below the traction in line with your right knee. I used my cellphone camera and and that is how i found it.

Please let me know how to reset my low tire light

Hi,

This just happened to me again. Every time the tires are rotated the dealer fails to clear the light. Turn the key to the "on" position and press the button (the one along the bottom of the dashboard near your left knee). Then hold the button in until the light flashes 3 times. This resets the system. It's described in the owners manual if you have one.

Useful answer, thanks! One addition: On my 2004 Highlander I found that you have to push the under-dash button first to turn the pressure indicator light off. THEN, you push it AGAIN and hold it until it blinks three times in order to reset the system.

Just experienced on my 07 Avalon that you also have to check the pressure in the spare tire. All the wheels have the same sensor (including the spare) back to the warning system.

I hope this helps.

Good luck.

How do you reset the low tire light on a 2006 Toyota Tundra?

Check that all tire pressures are good. Including the spare tire. If the spare is low, it will also make the light come on.

Maintenence required light and tire pressure lights will not go off after oil change and tire rotation on my Toyota Highlander. How do I turn them off?

The maintenance light needs to be reset manually. See my Tips and Tricks on this website for additional information on how to reset it.

You should also check your spare tire for proper inflation. It will set the tire pressure light, as the spare is monitored also. If all 5 tires are OK, you may have a malfunctioning tire pressure sensor. If the tires have been changed recently, people with older tire machines have been known to break the sensors regularly, by mistake.

08 Highlander Indicator light

The icon that you are referring to is the "tire pressure warning" light. This indicates that one (or more) of your tire pressures is below the specified inflation pressure. Note that the SPARE tire pressure is also checked. Best advice: Get a real good tire pressure gauge, and reset all of the tire pressures to specification, which is marked on a sticker on the driver side door opening. Once the pressures are set to specs, the light will go out automatically. This should help you out. Thanks for choosing FixYa.
The graciousness of a FixYa rating would be most appreciated!

Indicator light

The problem is more than likely your spare tire. The system monitors all five tires. Check the pressure in your spare tire.
