Look under the power steering pump in between the pump and the intake. The connector is the three wire connector that is on the passenger front off the engine right above the valve cover. The power steering pump needs to be removed in order to service the cam sensor.

Where is the camshaft position sensor on a 1998 Dodge Dakota 5.2L

The camshaft position sensor is located on the distributor for all engines designed for the 1998 Dodge Dakota. Accessing the sensor requires removing the distributor cap and the distributor rotor. The camshaft sensor pigtail comes through the front of the distributor and connects to the engine wiring harness above the intake manifold.

When replacing the camshaft position sensor on a 6cyl, which peripherals have to be removed?

Not much if anything. The cam sensor sits right on top of the engine, at the front, one screw to remove, and pull it out.

I nee instructions on a cam sensor removal for a 1998 ford contor with a 16 vale 2.o over head cam engine

The camshaft sensor is located at the back of the head on driver side. Remove the wire, unscrew the sensor, screw the new sensor in the head and put the wire back on the sensor

The camshaft sensor is not in the back on the 98 4 cyl its right in front. All you need to do is take off the 3 bolts on the top of the heat shield and pull it back a bit and it will be right there.
