Question about 1987 Toyota Supra

1 Answer

Toyota Supra 1987, Will not rev up.

I was out driving and everything was normal. After a little while of driving it pretty hard it would not rev up when given a lot of gas. It would hit about 2-3000rpm then just downshift. No matter how much gas i gave it it would not go any higher. It seemed to be running fine besides that. Anyone have any experience with this issue? Thanks.

Is it a turbo? You may be having a fuel-cut issue. Has teh problem happened since? If this only happens once is a while, it will be hard to diagnose.

I've got an 85 supra, blew engine in it. picked up an 87 supra w/55k mi. junker. how much of these cars are interchangeable? i want to swap everything i can.!

Most of the parts are interchangeable since during this period there were no major changes made to this model. It was upgraded in 85 and the next modified model was made in 88. so its pretty much the same model & since you have blown the engine, anything else that you want to swap, can be done easily

1987 Toyota Supra with brake light issues. All light work, but the brake lights don't get brighter. Does it have something to do with that little yellow box in the rear driver side pannel?

Brake light fuse , or burnt out bulb , or switch on brake pedal.
The bulbs have 2 filiments in them , 1 for running lights and 1 for brake lights.
